Work Around Town....

There is a lot of work going on in our little town. This corner is being dug up , replacing pipelines. On this corner is our  Dairy Queen, CVS drugstore, Casey's gas station, and McDonald's.
This is the McDonald's getting the sign erected, after removing the arches from it.  I do not know why they are taking the arches from the sign, unless it's a cheap upgrade. This was all going on in one day.
Plus here's the Miller  pipeline company at the other end of town . They are on the corner near  the Jim Dandy restaurant  . This where my old high school classmates and I have our monthly brunch. On this corner is the Jim Dandy and their offices are catty corner from the restaurant . The Presbyterian church and another gas station. You can see the church and down from it is the West Street Christian church. Still standing after baptizing me. LOL.   What I am getting at, is our town is being dug up every where. Gas lines are being replaced . We will need new streets by the time all this is completed. There are about five digs going on right now.
Not much going on around here at our house  , other than daily chores.  I did cover my plants under a sheet after I put them all together on the porch. This is to be our last day of frost. But I will still wait a week before putting the petunias in pots and containers.
Hope all of you are well. Find some joy today. XO

  1. Good Morning Susie, The sky is dark and they say we have a possibility of storms. I want to go to the hospital to see my borthers family. He has had a huge stroke and not doing good. I don;t know other then that what the day will bring. I love the flowers they just don;t like me. Allergies. Maybe it is a good thing to replace gas lines. They have had some fires in Kansas City, that was gas related. Hope all is well with you. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend Shirley

  3. That's a lot of construction and yes, the roads will be terrible afterwards! We have a new DQ nearby and treated ourselves to a peanut buster parfait recently. Wishing you a good weekend.

    1. Mildred, I am happy that you have a new DQ in your town. I love going to ours. The people working there seem like family, they are so nice. I hope the roads get repaired before summer . It is hard to get around town , some times. LOL. But we are lucky it is getting done. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  4. It is amazing that the city has the money for all of the work. So many cities are letting things go and then who knows what will rupture.

    1. I am not sure there is enough money. LOL. I could see where cities could make much more money by enforcing all their rules. :) I think it helps if every citizen would take pride in their yards and homes. I am glad the gas lines and sewers are being fixed. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  5. You live in a cute little town! We have a lot of digs going on here too. And streets are being ripped up and resurfaced. Spring tends to be the time to do that. I guess all the potholes are reminders that we need to repair and spruce things up.

    1. Kathy, I hope we can get everything fixed this year. We usually have road repairs every spring...but this spring is really needing more and more pot holes repaired. Hope you get all the work done around your area. I saw the house repairs. That will be nice. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  7. There is so much going on around your town, Susie. This morning, when I was out getting my coffee, I noticed a lot of paving and upgrades going on here too. I think that's wonderful that you get together with your high school classmates once a month. I wish we would do that also, sounds fun!

Have a fun and peaceful weekend, Susie. You are one of my favorite blog sisters too. :~)

  8. What a busy little town, must be growing and that's a good thing, or is it? What do you think? Some don't like growth others do! Frost? Oh my, hoping it's that last one for your area!
    Have a great weekend!

    1. Nancy, Some change is good and some is not. I do not want to lose our small town flavor for any reason. We sure could use some new businesses here. The malls and big stores, in the neighboring towns, has made it tough for small business. I still try to trade in our town. Oh yes, I am ready for the return of spring. Bless you, Susie

  9. You live in a darling town; reminds me of our old town. I love living in a town that has less that 20,000 residents. I really want to plant and get some flowers for our deck but our weather is so iffy-don't want to get them and then lose them. Have a great weekend.

  10. I'm trying to get back to my bloggy friends. Our town is doing this as well. You would think the president was coming. They are chopping down trees everywhere. This is because of disease in the ash trees. Thanks for the prayers and concerns. My DIL is coming home. She will have restrictions for 6 months. So glad my sweet girls have their mommy back. Hugs

    1. Oops, I have to laugh Debby, I have clicked twice and left two of the same comment on peoples blogs and I don't know what to do to erase one. LOL. I am happy your DIL is coming home, wish I could help her out some how. I will keep praying for her and your family. I hate that towns are losing the ash trees. My daughter's yard is full of those trees and I think the ash bore is in there area. They may lose many trees. Take care Debby, wishing you a good weekend, xoxo,Susie

We got down chilly last night but not quite that cold. We're expecting some bad storms in here tomorrow. Hope the bad weather misses ya'll ... Hope you have a bright sunshiney weekend. hugs, xo P.S. Did you see the Update on Ramblingon On (Carole) about Beth Marie. I'm so saddened that they have brought Hospice in. I've been praying for her so hard and had her on my mind about everyday. :(

    1. Diana, Hwy 31 that goes near us just finished up making a new bypass thru Kokomo...which had become known as Stop Light City to many truckers. Funny thing is all the stop lights were installed on the 1st bypass...now there's this bypass to bypass the old one. LOL. I am happy that the old natural gas lines are being replaced through out our town. I put my flowers back in the sun yesterday then back under that sheet last night. LOL..I do not want to be buying more. It's to rain Saturday and be nice on Sunday. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  19. After all the snow our streets are particularly beat up. Not much construction here but there's much in downtown Boston making a city that's difficult to get around even mores so.
