I went to Jo-Ann's fabric and craft store early Saturday morning. I bought some fabrics to make scarves.
This is one piece, it goes from the darks of midnight blue/black to yellow. I think it's a poly material. I liked the bright colors .
This piece feels like a stretchy t-shirt material. I may not even make a hem in the sides...may just cut some fringe at the ends and let it roll at the sides. I like that effect. It's sporty looking.
Another piece is like an oil painting watery poly. More winter looking. This piece with the gray, purple and ice blue is the one I really like. It's more like an old fashioned nylon scarf material. I like the gray in it. I'll make a rolled hem on it. Or who knows, I may just be ever so lazy and wear them as is. LOL. I'll show all of you...that will make me be more responsible.
We had a thunder storm last night. I's cloudy today. May take my Teddy Bear to lunch. Good wishes for all of you, XO.
I love all of the material, lovely colors, they will make pretty scarves. JoAnne's have a great selection, when I was making bunting for my granddaughter's wedding, I bought all of my material and supplies there.ReplyDelete
Jo, I thought my daughter did not know of the Jo-Ann's near by where she lives...she wrote that she goes the all the time to getting some of her jewelry making things. I liked so many of the fabrics. :) Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
I love your fabric and how smart you are to make scarves....ReplyDelete
BJ, It's so much cheaper than buying them.. I like a smaller scarf at times too. I do not wear as much jewelry as when I was younger, so I like a scarf once in awhile. I hope I can make them LOL. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
what beautiful scarves you are making, beautiful!!!!!ReplyDelete
Picking fabric was harder than I thought. I was looking for something with gray in a light weight. I hope I like it once I start sewing. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
Susie, I love Jo-Ann's, and go there often, especially for their wonderful season decor. I really like the oil painting looking material you chose for the scarf. The girls love to wear scarves during the cold winter months. These scarves would be nice gifts to give to family, Susie.ReplyDelete
Have a great week.
Sheri, The fabric that looked like a painting actually looks good with the bright colored one...I may sew them together. You are right scarves would be nice sister gifts. Blessings, love you, SusieDelete
I love browsing thru JoAnn's. Your fabric is pretty. Can't wait to see your finished projects. John's diabetes is acting up so I'm on a short blog break. I'll still be visiting. xoReplyDelete
Mildred, I am going to pray for your John tonight. Please take care of both of you. Love you, SusieDelete
We both appreciate your prayers very much. xoxoDelete
Quite ambitious for you to make scarves! Not much makes me excited about going to JoAnn's. I've become a "woman without a project.":-) xo NellieReplyDelete
Nellie,, I may have to hand stitch them. What ?? you mean you aren't baking something, or looking for a new recipe...that's not like you. :):) Hope you are having good weather. We had another nice day after the clouds cleared late in the morning. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
All the fabric you got is beautiful! I especially like the one that goes from purple to yellow. Have fun playing around with them.ReplyDelete
Kathy, That was abright color..I am thinking of sewing it to the painting looking one...they actually look good together. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
I love all of it.. That will make some of the most beautiful scarfs.. Post some pics when you get them made. hugs, xoReplyDelete
Susie, I hope I can sew them nicely... I do like the striped fabric because I do not think it will need hemmed. Sounds good to me. LOL. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo,SusieDelete
One of my favorite stores....lots of card making supplies. Pretty material though...how do you wear the scarves???ReplyDelete
Louise, I honestly was amazed at all the crafting things they had...I emailed my daughter about it...she said she has gone to the store near her and bought many of her jewelry things there. I did not even know. I just loop one slipknot most often if the scarf is short enough. I am not so into the bigger scarves. I love the looks of one. I do not wear so much jewelry any more so I like a scarf to dress up or accent things. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
Truth be told, I know nothing about fabric. However I know in about 4 months I'll be wearing one.ReplyDelete
It's 85 outside as I write this at about 7 p.m.
OK I'm just stalling now.
Boston Boy, You make me laugh. *5 at 7 is too darn warm. We had a storm in the night, cloudy this morning...but the day turn out wonderful and sunny. I am finally loving our summer. Shh...you know you do not want to even think of you know what that is white and wet and adds up to 9 feet...OMG. Take care, bless you, xoxo,SusieDelete
havent been in joanns in weeks! so unlike me! be sure to show us the finished products!ReplyDelete
have a great week
Hi Viv, I will show the scarves when I am finished. I just wish I could sew as well as I used too. Seems a job with wearing glasses. LOL. Jo-Ann's was having a big sale tomorrow. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
I love a scarf. I'm so hot-natured that I can't really wear them in the summer, but I wear one almost everyday in the fall and winter. Such an easy accessory.ReplyDelete
That is why I wanted to make my own scaves...less material, not a bulky..cause I think they can be too hot..But I love the look even in summer. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
I love that water color looking fabric...pretty colors. I am trying to use what I have but it would be fun to go 'look'! lol I get so many ideas from the fabric. maybe my dolls need a tie dye shirt! I'm having fun sewing this summer. Sweet hugs, DianeReplyDelete
Diane, I know when I sewed lots...it was hard to not look at material , especially when there was a sale. :):) I have been loving your new sewing projects. You are a real seamstress. Blessing to you, xoxo,SusieDelete
