Sweet Days....

We have had some wonderful blue skies and sunshine this week. It rained once in the wee hours Thursday morning.

The soy beans are so pretty right now. They wave in the breeze and look like a sea of green.
There's been gentle breezes. Not really harsh winds.  When it's warm , it's so nice to have a breeze blowing .
The 4-H grounds was having an old fashioned farm machinery show. I caught this shot driving by.  They had perfect weather for it.
Today I tried to stain the deck by myself. Wowwee...it's too hot at this time and I am wore out.  I have the posts and rails done..not the banisters though.  Then there the skirting and flooring. This might be a week long project. LOL.
It has been more like summer for about ten days now. Hope all of you are enjoying this weekend. XO

  1. Oh the weather has been perfect! It's been, "settin' on the porch watching the sun go down sippin' wine weather." I've been on two different porches, 4 times this passed week. A wine porch and a beer porch. After the long expensive week, those porches were appreciated.

    1. Debbie, Even though I had plenty of chores, I know to space them. I stopped and had a picnic at my brother's for a b-day gathering. I want to take all this good sunny weather in...to think about when it gets cold again. :) Blessings to you , love you, Susie

  7. We've been pretty good, too, Susie. The humidity is frustrating. Still a good summer.

  8. Good Sunday Morning Susie. This past week has been about the same for us weather wise. It was nice to shut the air off and have a few days of open windows and the breeze coming in. Have a great week.

    1. BJ, The year that Ted and I built that deck was a super hot one It took us about 10 days , it was so hot. I do like real hot weather..it's usually the humidity that drains my energy. So I take plenty of breaks . Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Mildred, My Sunday started as I saw the sun rise when I went to get the newspaper from the mailbox. I love watching the sun rise and set. It's cloudy now with a threat of rain. We need it though. I am not doing any more on the deck till Ted can help me. I just remember when we built it ...it took us 10 long days one July and it was super hot. Actually staining a deck should not be more time than an afternoon...if we both work at it. LOL. Hope John is doing better and you too my friend. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Sheri, If I ever get that deck finished, I will show it.LOL...it's wet again from rain yesterday evening. Ted can only help me certain days. I am ready to get some things done around here. This has not been a good year for staying on top of weed pulling and flower planting and such. Hope you are doing better than I am. :):)Blessings, love, Susie

  13. It's just too hot and humid for me to be outside much and I'm not liking that at all because I love the outdoors. It's been a strange summer. Either it's raining or so hot you can't breathe. I haven't kept up with the outside gardening so well this year. Be careful out there in the heat! Hope you have a nice week!

    1. Cheryl, I never dreamed I would get worse in the heat as I aged...we just don't know till it happens some times. I never was a real hot temperature kind of person. It does drain your energy. You are right about all the reason we can't keep up...too hot too wet and lack of energy. LOL. Take care, blessings, xoxo,Susie
