No More School, For Now.....

Skylar's first day of school...well after school, he's tearing off the bus. :)
Skylar's mom took this shot of his very last day of school. Walking out with his girlfriend. Skylar has grown into a big husky boy now.
One of his senior pictures with his girlfriend's dog. Skylar graduates soon.  He took some wielding classes and has his certification.  This is what he loves working with his hands and repairing things.
Here's how I like to remember him so loving to his sister, Savannah.
Playing baseball with freckles across his nose.
He's always been a good brother to his sister.
Both of them with such pretty blonde hair. I hope they are always close. As young adults, their interests are nothing alike.  His like cars, trucks, working in the garage. Savannah likes singing and art.
Skylar will not be going to college, he may take some more mechanical classes, because of the hands on.....but the boy just does  not want to sit still in class anymore.  I miss my little boy , but I am proud of the grown young man.  Shhh, I will still call him Skyboy. :):)
Windows 10 is taking over my computer today to do the latest greatest downloads....wish me luck...last time they did that I had to take my computer into the Geek Squad. Plus some blogger problems have been popping up here and there. I know some of you can't leave comments , I am so sorry. I am hoping it will all work out once the downloads are in.  Wish me luck.  Blessings. XO

    1. Thank you Karen. We all hope kids will go off to college, but not everyone is made that way. We need people who are very skilled with their hands to do repairs and fix broken things too. Skylar can wield very well. Ted , his brothers and their father were all wielders. Oh I love those sweet little kid photos of Skyboy and Savannah too. Blessings, hope you are not getting too much rain. Your sister says they did in Ga. Love, xoxo, Susie

  2. I love the first day of school and then the last day...precious pictures. Good for Skylar in learning a valuable skill. I have read that there is a real need for people in trade as everyone thinks they should go to college now. It is not for everyone. And when I need a welder I hope I can find one!! Best wishes to your grandson..

    1. Arlene, I truly appreciate your understanding of skilled trades. We do need more and more if the infrastructure in this country is to be fixed. Ted and I both worked skilled trades for General Motors. He was a pipefitter and I was an electrician...I gave all my old tools to Skylar. :):) Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  3. What a darling little boy and now he's all handsome and grown up. I"m glad he's following his passion of mechanics and taking mechanical classes. My husband never went to college he learned how to be an electrician though his grandpa and dad and is now an electrical contractor with his own business. College isn't for everyone and I sure Skylar is going to be amazing at what he does!

    1. Thank you Saimi. I know that not all kids love "book learning" LOL. I know Skylar has fixed things since he was a grade schooler. That is wonderful about your husband. Kids going to college do not always end up in the field they had in mind. We all wish the best for all the young people now out there looking for jobs or their place in life. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  5. Congratulations to your Skylar! I enjoyed the pics of him growing up. He and his sister will most likely be even closer in the years to come. Funny how that works. Our son didn't want to go to college, but we insisted and after a year and a half let him go try for what he had always wanted to do, which was follow in his dad's footsteps and be a firefighter! He was right, of course, and he would never have been satisfied with a job where he couldn't be out and doing things. Sounds like your Skylar. So I wish him well and know you are always proud of him. Blessings.

    1. Nonnie, I want him to always be a good man with a loving heart, no matter his job. So glad your son loved doing as his father before him. Skylar has always been mechanically inclined, so college classes would not suit him. I think he has a job lined already. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
p.s. thank your husband for helping your community.

    1. Angela, thanks for coming by. When Skylar and his sister were very young, their hair was so whispy and pale. Savannah has dyed her hair every color a time or two. Skylar gets buzz cuts, because he doesn't want curls. :) My computer seems ok but I do not know what the up grades even were. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  7. Congrats to Skylar. Hey college is not for everyone. It is good he knows he loves to work with his hands and can carve out a skill to do that. Good for him. You should be so proud of him. It is not very common for young men his age to know what they like and what they want to do with their lives so congrats to him. Happy Summer. Yeah summer finally is here for us. Enjoy my friend.
    xoxo

    1. Hi Kris, We are proud of Skyboy. I am glad he has that mechanical ability. I know he is excited . Can you believe this was the hot May in our local weather history ? Now if it would just rain once a week. :):) Blessings to all of you, xoxo, Susie

  8. Congrats to Skylar! He may change his mind about college in a few years but if you ask me, College is overrated. Best wishes to his future.

    1. Lisa, I laugh about the college statement...My oldest grandson graduated Ball State with a degree in meteorology, then went to SLC university for a degree in GIS . Now he work in an office...now it's a high power job with great pay...no a weatherman as I always thought he would be. I think Skylar love of fixing things is right up his alley. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Thank you Debbie. We made it to the graduations and open houses..I am exhausted. LOL. It's hard to let go of our young kids . I always pray they will do the right thing in life and never be afraid of hard work...to succeed. When Skylar was called to receive his diploma and girl named Skylar was right behind him. LOL. 13. Hi Susie! I can't believe how fast grandkids grow. It seems like it's faster than our kids, right? I hope you have a happy week!

    1. Yes, It does seem much faster. Actually my life goes faster as I age. I can remember time dragging by when I was young...not any more, if I miss seeing the great grand for a week, it turns into a month, or so it seems. My mom used to say she wished she had just built on more rooms rather than let us leave home. :):) Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
