I bought some buttons in July at the Peddler's market. I put them in some old jars and wrapped the tops with brown paper. Tied it up with twine.
This is the big wooden button that Ted made me. I think it looks nice with my button jars. I have not sorted through these buttons yet....saving that for a fun thing to do this coming winter.:):) I think a few of these big buttons would look cute on someone's sewing room wall. That man of mine, is so clever. Hope everyone is having a great Sunday. xo
I wonder what it is about buttons that make us collect them? I have a few jars myself!

ReplyDeleteI love your button jars!! My buttons are in a vintage tin....but I really like your jars where you can SEE them. My kids have always enjoyed sorting buttons.....this would be a great past time for the grandkids as well.....

Your husband is very creative and talented.

The big wooden button is great, looking at the picture just makes me want to touch it! My mum had a button tin when I was little, and I used to love sorting through all the buttons.

Love anything buttons, specially Ted's big button. You are right, they would look good I think in any room. The paper is good with the jars too, good idea. And did you know that Joanne fabrics now has twine in the country colors. I bought some black and some blue, I found it in the floral section. Happy Sunday.
ReplyDeleteJust what is it about a jar of old buttons that makes you smile? They make me happy and I have no idea why. Oh, I have seen those giant buttons online and the ones I saw were painted in the most amazing colors. Love the over sized version of them...and your hubby is so awesome for making you one.
ReplyDeleteI have a bunch of buttons in my creative space. I should think about grouping them for some jars.
ReplyDeleteYour wooden button is wonderful.
How neat! It would look great as the top of a big jar of buttons, too!
ReplyDeleteThat button is great, Susie. I can't believe your husband made this, it's very artistic. My mom used to have a bunch of buttons that she would keep for sewing, and I used to browse through them when I was a little girl. How nice that you collect them too.
