Just a few Horton photos. This first one was last Christmas. Oh I did see the old sleigh this week. It was in the greenhouse entrance, of the store. No pictures, sorry.
Lots of burlap rosettes, banners and ribbons. Lace wrapped tiny trees.
This proves you should never throw a frame away. they can be arranged on a wall without anything in them and still look good. I like the oval one with sheet music.
Yesterday, The repairman came to put the ordered part on the stove. A bit pricey, but it worked. Oh happy day. He used the gas sniffer meter to check for any other leaks. None. He did explain a few things about what had happened. You know if you understand a little it helps...if you don't he could be just blowing smoke. LOL. Since Ted had worked on appliances as a young man , he did glean some info from it. So move over Nellie, I may bake some cookies too. :):) In case you don't know Nellie, she is the queen of cookie baking over at Berries And More.
Hugs to all who need one. Who of us could not stand a hug? :):)
I love, I love, I love. I want to go to Horton's.
ReplyDeleteI hope this store never closes...what would I do for inspirational photos. :):) They are so nice in that store too. A good christian family. xoxo,Susie
DeleteI would love to see Horton's in person, Susie...but live vicariously through your visits there.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got your stove fixed and that Nellie is a great inspiration for baking!!! xo Diana
Diana, I just wrote how would I have enough inspirational photos if ever Horton's would close. Oh by gosh, I'd be lost. LOL. Nellie, is a good cook, always making something tasty to show us. :) xoxo,Susie
DeleteLaughing about being the "queen of cookie" baking.:-) Enjoy your stove since you have it repaired now! I still want to go through Horton's sometime. xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteNellie, Your highness... I thought you would like your new title. I wish we could have a big "let's all go to Horton's " party. LOL. xoxo,Susie
DeleteHorton's is quite the place. I love your pictures of it. So glad you got your stove fixed.
ReplyDeleteKathy, I get some decorating ideas from that store. Honestly , they make you sorry to throw anything away. LOL. xoxo,Susie
DeleteWho would have thought burlap would be so fashionable years ago, when it was just a gunny sax. HaHa
ReplyDeleteWanda, I would never have dreamed burlap could be done up so many different ways and look good too. When I think of the stuff we have thrown out. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteBurlap is so popular and I love those old frames, too. Glad your oven is working. Santa will be looking for cookies!!! hugs to you!
ReplyDeletePoor Santa Mildred..do you think he will know it is slice and bake ? LOL. I wish I could whip up some of my old time oatmeal cookies. I used to bake those for my kids and husband all the time. xoxo,Susie
DeleteOh fun to see Hortons. I loved it when I was down there last summer. What a great store. I hope to visit again down your way soon. Need another vintage market show and some warm weather and I will be there.
ReplyDeleteKris
Hi Kris, You know Horton's have about 4 -5 Markets a year. Spirng, Summer, Autumn and Christmas...They have a preview before the Christmas one. Maybe you can come down in Spring or Summer. Hope so. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI have many picture frames in my closet. Maybe I should get them out.
ReplyDeleteGlad your stove is working right. I would like to replace the grates on mine, but when I checked the price, it seemed a little steep. Will just have to apply a little more elbow grease to the things since he stove works perfectly fine.
What a lovely store.
Nonnie, I think stove are getting pricier all the time. And they do not last 30-40 years like the old days. I clean my stove and fridge all the time , so they look very good. But oh my you can tell it is poor workmanship or quality. Like under my grates, the paint seems thinner than all over the stove. My grandson scratched his mom's fridge with a cookie sheet as he walked by it. Unreal. Yes, you could decorate with your frames. :):) Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteWhat a wonderful store Susie, such variety to choose from, and lots of unique gifts.
ReplyDeleteI wish I lived closer :)

Thanks for another visit to Horton's. My kind of store, for sure. Want the easiest cookie recipe ever.....I egg, I cup sugar and 1 cup peanut butter. That's it. 350 til done. It's a smaller batch. I made some last night and not a one left. I used a natural PB this time, less sugar. Not the oily kind though. They are rich but easy and so good. Give Nellie a run for it.
ReplyDeleteI'll take a hug.
ReplyDeleteI can useH a "hug"...and am sending you a big one!! smile! So glad you got your stove fixed! Perfect time to bake!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Gert
