Ringing The Bells.....

This is the only picture I have of bells. :):) I will be ringing the Salvation Army Bell this afternoon. It is an honor for me. I remember two Christmases where the Salvation Army made  Christmas for my siblings and I.  It was a true blessing.
So as this little sign says... I will honor Christmas in my heart and try to keep it all the year.  That's a quote from Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol.
I am going to have faith that I do a great job ringing that bell and get plenty of money for the kids. The kids that the Salvation Army will be helping with the donations. So many need a bit of Christmas for the children. Tete over at Beyond The Garden Gate, sure has been doing  a fabulous job gathering toys and  money for making some Christmas for  all the needy children in her home town. What  great loving people she and her family are.
The sun is shining and I am loving that . I have the people on both coast in my prayers today. Too much wetness at one time.   Pass along a smile today. :):):)

    1. Kathy, I just got finished and it was a good feeling to be there ringing that bell. It was at our local grocery. Little kids love putting the coins in the bucket. That touched my heart. xoxo,Susie

  6. Such a great thing to do - give back and remember how they helped you. I always love seeing the bell ringers and like to give to them. Our church did the Angel Tree and also bought bicycles for 350 children. I love it!
    Blessings to you, Susie.

    1. I never see how much is in the kettle as they are locked and the person in charge empties them each evening. I just know a lot of people donated and told me a story . I saw many old friends and made some new ones. So all around it was a winning situation. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  11. Yup the Salvation Army has been present at the store that I work at for a couple of weeks now. I've thrown in a few dollars so far and I do admire them for standing outside when the weather, at times, is not very agreeable. In truth what keeps me going is the in 4 moths I will be able to spend another week on Martha's Vineyard. That is our present. in this season, to us. We're still in a period of adjustment with the both of us being in a state of semi-retirement. It's only been 8 moths since both went to part time status and started collecting social security. I think there's a blog here.
If I don't say it before the holiday is over, a wonderful Christmas to you and your family. Thank you for your support.

    1. Boston Boy, the clerks at the store said they like that I rang the bell softly. LOL. I rang it almost the whole two hours...when ever anyone was near the exit. I had a fun time. Blessings to you and Arlene. Thank you for the nice wishes and the same to you and yours. I have enjoyed this time commenting back and forth. xoxo,Susie
