Osteoporosis.....

These are my sisters, Pam and Brenda.  They both have osteoporosis. Pam just a touch, Brenda has it severely. She tripped  taking her trash out two days ago. She fractured her elbow and knee cap.
She is at my sister Jeanie's  right now. Waiting to get into the orthopedist, for more whatever...she has two puffy casts on right now.  I am afraid she maybe down for some time.
Brenda has osteo from lack of hormones...she had a complete hysterectomy at 26 and didn't  take hormones...why?  I want to ask if my blog family will say a few prayers for Brenda. Thank you so much., I truly appreciate all of you.  XO

  1. I would love to add your sisters to my prayer journal. I have a bone density test next week, as the meds I take for my cancer weakens the bones so I take Calcium, Magn/Vit. D.

It's hard to know what the right thing to do is with hormones.

    1. Thank you Kimberly. I took hormones for a while. But it was much later, as my own diminished. Then I got off them after the last scared of cervical cancer from the meds. xoxo,Susie

    1. Laurie, My mother had a hysterectomy at age 37 and never took hormones either...but she had good bones. Still had good posture until she passed at the age of 83. I think a lot of Brenda's was she had never had children and had her hysterectomy so young, plus she smoked a long time. That is one of the no-no's . Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  14. Susie...I just don't think we know how serious it is that we take our medications.
Our health is something we just seem to take for granted. I feel so bad for them. Had I done things differently..I would have saved myself some health problems too.

    1. Thank you Mona. Brenda is taking calcium/ vitamin D , now. It is suppose to help her....but I think she should have been on that a long time ago. I worry about her. The Dr says she can break bones coughing, sneezing, she's fragile. xoxo,Susie

  16. Praying for Brenda. Oh, what a thing to happen and praying it won't take so long to recover from this. So sorry for her. I have that stuff starting, too along with the degenerative. Its going to make old age interesting. I had my hysterectomy at 29, but they left the ovaries so no hormones. Have a good weekend and take in this cool weather while we can.

  18. I will definitely say a prayer for Brenda, Susie. That osteoporosis must be awful for her. My mom had arthritis, and sometimes it hurt so much. This is a sweet picture of your sisters.

    love,
