This is how it looks around here lately. Gray skies, rain, and chilly. But yesterday it was near 70 and humid. Then there were storm warning in the evening.
Here is a happy sight. Tiny little crabapples. This is on our flowering crabapple. They are only big enough for birds to eat. I do see birds eating them in winter and early spring. I am already missing some of the wonderful birds we have around here.
Today we may get our flu shots, if the drug store has the shots on hand. We have taken them for years and never had any side effects. With every scary nasty thing going around , this is one thing that can help if you should get the flu. I should knock on wood...Ted and I have been very blessed not to have had colds or flu for years.
Hope you have a great day. XO
the crabs are so pretty, yes time for flu shots!!!
ReplyDeleteLaurie, I am hoping I do not have the flu this year either. :):) I do think it helps if you have had the shot...it can keep you from getting it so badly. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteSusie, I was just thinking the same thing lately - the birds are scarce right now. I'm not seeing them as much. Your crabapple tree is so pretty. I bet it's such a lovely sight with all the red.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week, Susie.
love,
~Sheri
Sheri, We have seen tons of those nasty starlings...I hope they are headed out for the winter. But I am missing my hummingbirds , and the little sweet things that come around. xoxo,Susie
DeleteI hope my family will take the shot, Mister already got his at work. I have such a terrible aversion to needles that I may opt out, though I really think they are a good thing. Scary times we live in.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is . Don't look when getting the shot, that might help. :):) We use to get shots at work too. If people would cough into their armpits or inside their shirts it would help...but I have seen grown people cough right out into the air. Geech. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteP.S. I looked back thru my first blog post ever and you were on of my first visitors. Thank you.
We have a chance of storm weather today but so far it's gone around us. Have a good day my friend! Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteYikes, I saw the scary weather map this morning....did not look good for the south east. Stay safe. xoxo,Susie
DeleteI love our crab apple trees, too, Susie. I have only ever had one flu shot and I have never (knock on wood like you do) had the flu. The stuff that is going around now is SOOO very scary. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteDiana, There's so many mutations of the flu..I just don't want to chance getting it with a shot. Hope you are better today. xoxo,Susie
DeleteHi Susie, I used to get flu shots every year, because I worked with children and at the time suffered with asthma. Since we moved here though, I haven't gotten any. You are right-there are so many bad viruses going around. You and I have much in common and I've seen you around for years, so I am going to follow you. Can't wait to get to know you more.
ReplyDeleteNoreen
Noreen, Oh yes, kids the little germ carrying things. LOL. My daughter teaches so she has to make them wash their hands all the times.Thank you so much for following. I will love it. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI have been very lucky and have not had a flu since the 70's. Ironically it was after I got a flu shot. It was mild though but I have been lucky ever since.
ReplyDeleteI am amazed you have not had the flu...as you worked with the public too. I hope you always are healthy. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI need to schedule my flu shot. My hubby went today for his. We haven't missed a year in ever so long! xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteWe gets ours at CVS drugstore. So far they have given them without any problems. Hope you can get yours. xoxo,Susie
DeleteI got a flu shot every year for 30 years. I haven't gotten one since I quit work 3 years ago. I don't get out as much now. I pray for cooler temps. It was 90 yesterday here in Georgia.
ReplyDeleteDuring flu season , we try not to be out too much. But then you never know when you may have to go to the drs. office...where lots of germs are. xoxo,Susie
DeleteI hoped to get one at the drugstore today, but the line was long. Will try again tomorrow. Always enjoy your photographs.
ReplyDeleteButtercup, That is the bad part, waiting in lines. Early morning is the best time. xoxo,Susie
DeleteI don't normally get the flu shot but I'm thinking I might get one this year. Scary stuff out there right now. I think the rain is over for us for awhile. We've had so much and the ground is saturated.
ReplyDeleteCheryl, There some nasty germs out there. The sun was out for a wee nit yesterday afternoon. We may be in for more rain . I have seen it in the fields that have been harvested. That's enough, I think. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteSaw my first winter migrant bird yesterday...had a dark-eyed junco in the yard.
