This morning it's 45 degrees....it feels very chilly. So a nice warm cup of coffee is hitting the spot.
Yes, it's harvest time in our area. Some soybeans and corn have been harvested lately. One nearby field has already been plowed for next spring.
Trees are turning , and losing leaves with the rain and wind we have had the past two days. So I'd say we are well into autumn. Just hoping there's no early winter.
I love this scene out our dining room window. I have noticed a slow down in the birds coming around. It's time to bring in the hummingbird feeders.
I love seeing all the pretty colors of fall. The flowers and trees. Hope all of you are enjoying the beauty also. May need a sweater for going out. XO
I see patches of snow on the radar this morning-just west of Chicago. Hope it misses me.
ReplyDeleteHi Honey, I hope no snow comes to Indiana till maybe Feb. 2015...how's that? Then melts right after. LOL. Nana Diana said it snowed a little ways off from where she lives...Wis. Yikes to close Kathy. Love you, Mommy
ReplyDeletethe trees look like they are going to be beautiful this year. Ready for my vacation and get back to Central IL, hope the trees are peaking then!
ReplyDeleteAnn, I am hoping you can have vacation without a coat !!! Time off work is good . Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteYou have some lovely colors on those trees! We are still waiting here, but after the cool temps of this week-end, we may see more color. xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteNellie, I think there will be plenty of color after this cold weekend. Hope you are warm. xoxo,Susie

DeleteBeautiful photos! I do love the changing of the colors, just not the cooler temps and having to turn the furnace on;(
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day!
Gert
Gert, I hate turning the furnace on...so it's sweaters for now. We may use a space heater to take the chill off or make a wee fire in the fireplace. Stay warm. xoxo,Susie
DeleteSusie- What pretty pictures. I love the view from your dining room, too. Someone recently told me that some humming birds stay year round. I could hardly believe it but I guess it is true.
ReplyDeleteYou were TWELVE DEGREES warmer there this morning than we were here. You must be in the middle of a heat wave! lol xo Diana
Diana, I went to get the mail and wore a sweater and a jacket...could not get back inside fast enough. LOL. Going into winter 45 is cold...coming out of winter 45 is warm...It's that mind thing. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeletebeautiful photos, I have never saw soybeans being harvested, its cold here too, snow just a up north from us, thats too early for me,
ReplyDeleteLaurie, When they harvest soybeans it's a dusty dirty job. The beans are all that goes into the combine. The rest just gets pulverized. It's a pretty sight when the sun is shining on the fields. Stay warm and let's pray for a long wonderful autumn. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteWe had snow here. Beautiful flakes for a couple of hours. It melted when it the ground. I was so excited. We still need to have our fall. Love all the colors like in your pictures.
ReplyDeleteBrrr Debby , we do not want snow right now...let's have a nice long fall season. :):) Our farmers have a long way to go before the harvest is done around here. I have been cold all day. Ted just now made a small fire in the fireplace, to take the chill out of the air. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteIt was so cold here too all day! I hope we don't have an early winter! Whenever I see John Deere tractors, it makes me think of my dad. He was a life long farmer, and never used anything but a Deere:)
ReplyDeleteDonna, My neighbor is a true John Deere fan....except for one plow. I am hoping for a nicer fall season..no early snow please. xoxo,Susie
DeleteI had to turn the heat on here this morning as it is 36 degrees. Glad I remembered to bring my little lemon tree in last night. Looks like a pretty fall is happening in your area. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteLaura, I think lots of people turned the heat on. I am glad you brought your little tree in also. We were to have a freeze.Too much cold too soon. xoxo,Susie
DeleteHi Susie,
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a beautiful autumn where you live! It's been below freezing here in the mornings, so it's almost time to get the wood stove going again.
Have a lovely day,
Lin
Lin, My husband made a small fire in the fireplace yesterday evening (Sat.) hen this morning he turned the furnace on...I am not ready for that. It's pretty this morning but only 40 degrees...5 less than Saturday. Stay warm, xoxo,Susie
DeleteSusie,
ReplyDeleteThere's just something about your posts that are so delightful to me. The area where you live is so pretty. It's been colder here in the mornings, but still warm during the day. It's supposed to get cooler in the next week or so. These are the prettiest leaves I've seen this season. They have a lot of red in them. How wonderful to see harvest time in your area.
love,
~Sheri
