You can see I have been collecting the pine cones .This year there seems to be plenty and in the best shape. This little letter box , I have had for some years now. I decided to leave the shutters leaning against the wall. I clipped on the mail flag, one of the clothespin/felt blackbirds that Emma and I made last year .
I have a dish of pine cones mixed in with the gourds and pumpkins. My ceramic chicken and a wooden pumpkin with black bird cutout .
Here is where I put the plant, into this container that I left the dusty miller in and pulled the petunias out . Also added some marigolds from a garden patch.
Filled this containers with the marigolds . Looks like I need something in the chicken pot .
I just took a photo of this bouquet I made with my last two hydrangea blooms and some orange and pink mums. I put them in an old milk bottle.
Ted and I need to restain and seal on porch flooring. So if it doesn't rain Thursday, we will power wash the floor to get it ready for stain. As you all know, there is always something that needs done.
Hope you have a sunny day, hard to believe it's October already. :) XO
Happy October 1, Susie! It appears that you have been working hard to get those seasonal displays all in order! Very festive! xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteOct. Nellie , yikes, my life has wings. I think the porch looks good...but then I'll have to do it all over once we clean the decking. xoxo,Susie
DeleteVery fall! A cute little vignette! Hope you're having a good week Susie!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sherry. It is 9:30 and the fog is thick at this moment. I am hoping for some sunshine. I need to visit your blog, as I have not been the best about visiting. Hope you and yours are well and enjoying our fall weather. xoxo,Susie
DeleteYour place is brimming with OCTOBER!!!
ReplyDeleteI watered and watered and then at the end - with all the 100 degree days - everything turned crispy BROWN! It's still hot so when it finally cools down I am going to have to replace my mums and add some fall color to the beds. Dusty Miller is one of my favorites. I have one that has survived the heat! They are heat and cold and drought tolerant!
Happy Fall, Y'all!!!
Hi Linda, I have noticed many of my mums need to have some deadheading. I hate doing that during spider season...eewweee. I like dusty miller a lot. I have notice it stay very nice for long periods. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteHappy October Susie. You're all ready for fall. very pretty.
ReplyDeleteHi Missy, I know it's pretty around your area at this time also. I remember there was some new planting in your beds . Hope everything is blooming nicely. xoxo,Susie
DeleteSusie,
ReplyDeleteThe marigolds always say "Autumn" to me. I love the pot with them on your porch. At my new house, I have a very small porch, so I guess I'll just put a couple pumpkins out there. I love all your pinecones too. I have been seeing a lot of them lately in the stores.
Happy October, Susie!
love,
~Sheri
Sheri, You are so good to stop by. We have pine trees along the drive...I love the scotch pine cone the best. I love a big basket of them with a red or plaid ribbon for Christmastime.xoxo,Susie

Hi Jo, I think I got Nellie's mail from you. LOL. Remember I am Susie. xoxo,Susie
DeleteHi Susie: Autumn has arrived at your front door. So pretty. The bouquet with the mums and hydrangeas is beautiful. I was just thinking I should pick the few hydrangeas that are hanging on for drying..Have fun staining!!..Happy Wednesday..Judy
ReplyDeleteOh yes, pick your hydrangeas while they are still nice they will dry well. If I stain I have to do this all over. LOL. But hey it needs done. xoxo,Susie
Deletesuch a beautiful bouquet. Those Mums truly compliment the Hydrangeas.
ReplyDeleteMunir, I loved the orange mums with the pink of the other mums and the pink hydrangeas. It made a lovely bouquet. Makes me wish I had more. But I think some things are beyond blooming this season. xoxo,Susie
DeleteSusie- Your porch looks so cute. I forgot about those cute blackbirds you made with your granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers and mixture of plants are lovely! Hope you have had a great day- xo Diana
Diana, We cut those bird shapes from felt and painted the clip clothespins black and glued them to the felt. They clip anywhere you want a black bird. We did cardinals for Christmas time.:) I had a nice day, was outside some watering and cleaning. xoxo,Susie
DeleteI love all of the Fall flowers and pumpkins. My hubby told me the pumpkin patch near our house was open today when he was out and about. We have a pot of mums inside. Too hot to put it outside. And I'll get pumpkins to enjoy inside, too! happy Fall! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteDiane, It was hot when my mums first bloomed and I try to remember to water them . But they are looking as if it is November already. I tried to deadhead some yesterday...spiders and grasshoppers....creeped me out. Too scary. xoxo,Susie
DeleteI like all of your autumn decorations. I was in the wholesale flower district yesterday and found stores devoted to floral supplies and one with just pumpkins. I took some pictures and may try a few small autumn decorations.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol. I bet you get to see the best flowers around. I don't go overboard when decorating. I just pop a few things in here and there. Hope you have fun day. xoxo,Susie
