Porch Decor....

You can see I have been collecting the pine cones .This year there seems to be plenty and in the best shape.  This little letter box , I have had for some years now. I decided to leave the shutters leaning against the wall. I clipped on the mail flag, one of the clothespin/felt  blackbirds that Emma  and I made last year .
I have a dish of pine cones mixed in with the gourds and pumpkins. My ceramic chicken and a wooden pumpkin with black bird cutout .
Here is where I put the plant, into this container that I left the dusty miller in and pulled the petunias out .  Also added some marigolds from a garden patch.
Filled this containers with the marigolds . Looks like I need something in the chicken pot .
I just took a photo of this bouquet I made with my last two hydrangea blooms and some orange and pink mums. I put them in an old milk bottle.
Ted and I need to restain and seal on porch flooring. So if it doesn't rain Thursday, we will power wash the floor to get it ready for stain. As you all know, there is always something that needs done.
Hope you have a sunny day, hard to believe it's October already. :)  XO

  3. Your place is brimming with OCTOBER!!!
I watered and watered and then at the end - with all the 100 degree days - everything turned crispy BROWN! It's still hot so when it finally cools down I am going to have to replace my mums and add some fall color to the beds. Dusty Miller is one of my favorites. I have one that has survived the heat! They are heat and cold and drought tolerant!
    Happy Fall, Y'all!!!

  5. Susie,
The marigolds always say "Autumn" to me. I love the pot with them on your porch. At my new house, I have a very small porch, so I guess I'll just put a couple pumpkins out there. I love all your pinecones too. I have been seeing a lot of them lately in the stores.

    Happy October, Susie!

    love,

    1. Diana, We cut those bird shapes from felt and painted the clip clothespins black and glued them to the felt. They clip anywhere you want a black bird. We did cardinals for Christmas time.:) I had a nice day, was outside some watering and cleaning. xoxo,Susie

    1. Diane, It was hot when my mums first bloomed and I try to remember to water them . But they are looking as if it is November already. I tried to deadhead some yesterday...spiders and grasshoppers....creeped me out. Too scary. xoxo,Susie

  11. I like all of your autumn decorations. I was in the wholesale flower district yesterday and found stores devoted to floral supplies and one with just pumpkins. I took some pictures and may try a few small autumn decorations.
