This is how the trees are looking....pretty bare. I know it's late in the year, but for some reason, it does not seem that it should be this late. I think when we are busy we do not notice just how much time is getting away .
My sister is going today to see about her senior citizen apartment. Only older people can live there. Everything is taken care of by a maintenance crew. So she will not have to worry about anything. She will be a 1/2 block from a grocery, two blocks from the library, and 1 1/2 blocks from the P.O. This will be a the perfect place for her. Oh no stairs for her to climb either.
It's chilly but nice out. I am going out later today. Just to get some fresh air. Hope all of you can enjoy this day. XO
Susie, I loved your comment so much today. I didn't realize you had so many members of your family working for the railroad too. I heard the train horns this morning too when I woke up early.ReplyDelete
I hope your sister likes the place she is looking at. It sounds just right for her, and no stairs, yaaay. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the single story house we have now. Those stairs were starting to annoy me haha.
Have a sweet day, Susie.
Sheri, Some times the train would sound like a blue sound so far away. But in winter, I always felt like hey I am not alone , there's people out there. LOL. It's my sister Brenda, the one with the ostio. She has such pain at times. Hope your day is a great one. xoxo,SusieDelete
What a sweet little town you live in. I love the picture.ReplyDelete
The train is not too far from my house and I can hear the whistles in the night. I always wonder who is on it and where they are going.
Kathy, I like trains , and I have only traveled on one and that was not very far. It was from south Bend , Indiana to Chicago. xoxo,SusieDelete
Yep ~ naked trees here too. Where did the summer go ... where did the fall season go? We have snow in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow. I guess our winter months are coming on whether we're ready for them or not.ReplyDelete
Mel, It did seem as if our summer and fall just went way too fast. It feels like the fall should just be starting nt leaving us with old man winter on our heels. Hope you and your family have a peaceful winter. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
If ever there comes a chance, I would love to live in such a place. Be close to things. Hopefully walking!ReplyDelete
Brenda, I just thought, my sister who is moving into the senior housing , her name is Brenda.:):) She got the apartment. It is small and they have rules. But it is soooo affordable. I hope you can walk again too. It would be nice to be close to things . xoxo,SusieDelete
I feel the same way that you do, Susie. That somehow the fall has simple gotten away from us. I am hoping for an apartment in Atlanta next year that will be within walking distance of all of those things. xo LauraReplyDelete
Laura, I pray you can get an apartment like that. I would love it myself. My sister did get that place today...she signs all the papers next week. What a blessing for her. xoxo,SusieDelete
It's amazing the options we have as we get older now! Good for your sister finding the perfect place!ReplyDelete
Our trees still have leaves but the elm is nearly bare! Fall arrived late this year!
Linda, I hope you can hang onto fall. Now today was one of those rare heavenly day. 61 degrees and sunny all day long and now a big sweet moon is shining in the sky. Love it. There are 3 of those apartment buildings in this town and I am so happy for my sister to get one. It's an affordable place too. They work around your income. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
Susie, Even with bare trees, it is still so pretty. Senior living places are so good and help folks stay active and involved. I took Hunter out for a walk and it was quite pleasant; next week we are supposed to get a cold front.ReplyDelete
Have a great evening.
Noreen, The place my sister is gettingis affordable housing for seniors. It isn't where they have clubs or game time or crafts. That would surely be nice though. We had a wonderful day today 61 degrees and sunny all day long. This evening there is a wonderful big moon. We too are suppose to have big weather change coming our way. I guess there is no escaping it. When your dog look so soft and pretty...I would only walk him on the sidewalks. LOL. I would not want him to get dirty. Bless you, xoxo,SusieDelete
I think it is early for trees to be bare! We still have a lot of leaves on the trees here. The apartment your sister is moving to sounds very nice. I think she will enjoy living on one level. We will one day have to move for that reason too.ReplyDelete
Kelly, I miss seeing all the pretty fall colors on the trees...it's kind of sad. Plus I am missing our birds. My sister got that apartment and will be signing her papers on next Wed. It very affordable for her. I think she is going to like being so close to things and not have to drive all the time. I want to move back to town...because I can see where I can't do as much our here any more..such as raking the yard. I still shovel the drives . I did not do much of anything in the flowerbeds this year. xoxo,SusieDelete
That place sounds perfect for your sister. Is that also close to you?ReplyDelete
I hear you about it being into November already. I can't believe how fast this Fall has FLOWN by! It's crazy- xo Diana
Diana, My sister will be living back in our hometown of Tipton. So I will her more. Plus she has been advised to retire from working. It's her osteo. xoxo,SusieDelete
It sounds like your sister is going to have a perfect place. We still have leaves on our trees here, though that may not last through the week-end. xo NellieReplyDelete
Nellie, I saw where the temperatures are going to be colder for us. Since you live farther south I hope you still can have some nice days. xoxo,SusieDelete
It seems all of a sudden our trees are bare, too. Lots of fallen leaves everywhere.ReplyDelete
The apartment sounds great. Wonderful that everything is so convenient.
Carol, It was the cold snap and all that wind that stripped the leaves here. We are in for a bad change soon and I am not looking forward to that. Hope you had a great time in the south. xoxo, SusieDelete
When my granddaughter was just a couple years old we were driving down the road one fall and she looked out the window and said "Look at those Naked Trees" I had never thought of them that way before, now I do each fall. She will turn 16 next month. Through the eyes of a child.ReplyDelete
Have a good refreshing day!
Sylvia, When I was re-reading my post...I thought why did I say naked instead of bare. LOL. I am glad you had a fun memory of your granddaughter when reading my title. :):) xoxo,SusieDelete
I hope things work out for your sister...We still have about 50% of our leaves..There was an inch of rain last night that helped some of them fall, I'm sure..Damp today..ReplyDelete
Hi Missy, My sister did get the apartment.:) We have had rain on and off. Hope we all have a better weekend. One where we can at least talk a walk. xoxo, SusieDelete
It looks like that around here too!! I wish we could have all the beautiful colors a lot longer. Have a great weekend.ReplyDelete
Thank you Kathy. I was hoping for a long pleasant fall. Not to be , I guess. I hope your weekend is a great one also. xoxo,SusieDelete
The sun just came out, I havent seen it since Sunday!ReplyDelete
Ann, We had a lovely day on Wed. Thurs. was rain. xoxo,SusieDelete
Hope your sis gets the Apt. Susie! Our trees are pretty naked now too! Can't wait till Spring. lol!ReplyDelete
Thank you Jann, she did get it. It's so close to things, she won't have to drive all the time....that's if she is able to walk. She's in bad shape for her age. It's her osteo. Take care, xoxo,SusieDelete
I'd like to live at a place like that! Funny we have more leaves left on the trees around here. You live in a very nice area.ReplyDelete
Wow - we still have most of our leaves. Your picture is looking a lot like winter already.ReplyDelete
Relyn, It is going to feel a bit like winter this weekend. Thank you for stopping by. xoxo,SusieDelete
I love, love seeing this photo! Seems like such a kinder, gentler way to live and I miss that. Glad your sister will be close & it sounds like this place is absolutely perfect for her!ReplyDelete
