This is Sam, my daughter's family dog. Big old slobbery dog. Loveable as can be. He thinks he is a lap dog....if you are sitting down he tries to get on your lap. He must be about 65 -70 pounds. He's on his leashed run here....because the chickens are running loose for awhile. He plays too rough with them , know what I mean. I like this dog, he doesn't try to jump on me, I am thankful for that.
Today we have snow here. The wind whipped the snow all over. So it's slick and icy in spots. The sun is shining at this moment, hope it warms up enough to melt some of this snow. :):) There is more on the way from our local weatherman said .
Hope all of you are feeling well today. Be careful if you venture out. XO
It is getting cold here but no snow, thankful for that. Going to be 18 degrees in the morning. Stay warm and bring Sam inside.ReplyDelete
Sylvia, My SIL bathes that dog, so I know he's in the house..He stays in the garage at times also. He has a dog door to it.:):) These temperatures are bitter already. Stay warm, xoxo,SusieReplyDelete
We have a cold rain here this morning, Susie. I'd thought of errands I needed to take care of, but think I'll get a start on baking instead.:-) xo NellieReplyDelete
Nellie, That's safer than being out in the slick and cold. Hope you enjoy making something tasty. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
I love a big and gentle dog, but not crazy about the slobber (or the presents they leave). Our grand dogs, Hank, Palin and Porter are like that. :-)ReplyDelete
Stay warm. It was 23 here this morning and a dusting of snow on the ground and rooftops!
Nonnie, That is the yucky part of old Sam...those slobbers .LOL He slobbers on the cat and it looks as if the cat doesn't even want to give himself a bath at times. LOL. Hope it warms up some for all of us, getting this arctic cold. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
Sam looks like a good 'ol dog...the best kind! Stay warm!ReplyDelete
Linda, You'd love that dog. He is a nice dog..just a bit whacky. LOL. I don't love to much on him because of the slobbers. I'll pet him but I don't hugged him tight. LOL I am wearing layers of clothing and it's just Nov.. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
well Sam is a beauty, I can see why the chickens are no match for him though, he is a big boy!ReplyDelete
LOL Laurie, you are right. Sam used to bother Ozzie the cat...but now they are chums, they walk off down the road together at times. it is funny to see. Bless you Laurie and Garry too. I think our winter is here...so I know you have it too. xoxo, SusieDelete
I guess we are going to get all that now minus the snow. Crane today. Are used to have a 75 pound lab who thought he was a lap dog. Stay warm !ReplyDelete
Missy, That must be it. Sam is half lab and half boxer. I think that is the slobber part. LOL. Labs are sweet , I think. Stay warm, if this comes your way...it is very cold. Blessings to you and your loving pets. xoxo,SusieDelete
My Piper is the same way....he's a Springer Spaniel but only 30 pounds. Long and boney. He gets his entire body on my lap. We have snow today. Even had school cancelledReplyDelete
Debby, It's scary canceling school already. Last year some schools around here went to school on Saturdays to make up for lost time. Our school went an hour longer for a couple weeks. That just about killed the kids. LOL. Don't wonder how dogs see themselves. It's funny to think about. Sam used to torment Ozzie the cat, now they go everywhere together. It's crazy. Take care dear Debby and stay safe. xoxo,SusieDelete
The cold air is supposed to push all the way down here overnight. Hope that sun comes out for both of us tomorrow! Sweet hugs, DianeReplyDelete
Diane, If it gets cold down there...it surely can not last long. You will have to wear two pairs of capris.LOL. I hope for some Indian Summer. Seems eons since we've had one. Stay warm, xoxo,SusieDelete
Nah. I stayed in today. It rained and I had no place to go. Tomorrow on the other hand I head back to work.ReplyDelete
Boston Boy, Hope you do not get any snow going back to work, that's bad enough. Hope you are feeling better Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
It is so cold by us. This is way to early for this kind of weather. At least the sun was out to help offset the freezing cold temps and wind chills. Stay warm.
Kris, I too think it's too early for this cold. The weatherman says it's more like the middle of Jan. Yesterday snow and wind looked like Feb. to me LOL. stay warm, xoxo,SusieDelete
He looks like a loveable big old ball of fur, but I can imagine him sitting on your lap might pose a challenge! It's rare that we see snow here on the coast of NC, but who knows, it has happened in the past.ReplyDelete
Stay warm and cozy.
Hi Sissie, I am sure hoping you do not see snow...that would mean another big polar vortex. LOL. Enjoy your good weather. Thanks for visiting, xoxo,SusieDelete
I honestly don't miss having big dogs around anymore. lol At least big LAP DOGS. lolReplyDelete
We have snow here and it is miserably cold! xo Diana
Diana, I would never own a dog again. Nor a cat now. I just enjoy the animals in nature more now. This is too much cold too soon for me. I am a wiener wonderland kind of girl. LOL. whine, whine, whine. That's me. Honestly it seems the older I get the less I even like winter or snow. No wonder old people move to Arz. or Florida. Bless you, xoxo,SusieDelete
If my dog saw chickens while being tied up outside, he would probably break his neck trying to get to them! He's like that inside when he sees a squirrel. He scratches at the window and damages our woodwork until we let him out. We are getting cold weather here (down in GA). Not use to it being this cold this early in the season!ReplyDelete
Kelly, that is a funny thing about Sam....I rarely hear him bark. I know he barks at night, because I have heard him carrying on. My SIL says it's because of the coyotes in the woods across the road. But if Sam sees a loose chicken he slaps his big paw right on top of it. Not good. But he is so darn loveable. xoxo,SusieDelete
Oh...I bet Sam is a loveable dog..smile.. I know this weather is something else isn't it?? We got 4" of snow yesterday and only a high of 19. BrrrReplyDelete
Gert, Sam is sweet for a big galute of a dog. It snowed more last evening and the wind blew so much. I fear what winter will be like for all of us. xoxo,SusieDelete
What what a cutie pie! We had to rescue our neighbors chickens from a dog that was "playing too rough" with them one time. The neighbors weren't home at the time. Yikes! Brrrr is right. I can't like it! We went to Frankfort last night and on the way home that stretch of 31 between Tipton and Kokomo, the flat farmland... Was awful driving with the snow blowing across the highway. What happened to fall?ReplyDelete
Cindy, I remember that chicken/dog post. LOL. Since I retired, I try not to go anywhere when the weather is bad...because of so many years of having to drive in it. If I got out there going to shop or just putter around and got stuck...I would be so mad at myself. So I stay home and pray for everyone to be safe.:):) We have more drifting since the farmers took out all the fence rows...Nothing to catch the blowing snow. Stay safe and warm , xoxo,SusieDelete
Hello Sam. You are such a cutie. I just love looking at the snow in your area. I know you get tired of it, but it is so heartwarming to me.ReplyDelete
Have a wonderful week, Susie.
