Vote Today....

I wanted to show a symbol of our country today, since it's election day . Took this cruising back into NY harbor., after going to Canada.  I cried when I saw Lady Liberty for the first time. Growing up I never dreamed I would leave that little corner of our block, that was our universe.
This was on my last trip to NYC. Just before they opened it back up to the public.  It was a truly beautiful day.
This was taken on a rainy evening cruising in one of the sight seeing boats on the river. I hope to get back to NYC one day soon. I want to go inside the statue.
Today we will be voting. Praying as I vote that people can keep their promises. To do better for mankind.  Been seeing some dirty political ads, the past few days. Ready to scream. Those ads make me want to absolutely vote the opposite of what they are wanting.
Rainy today, gray and gloomy. But Teddy Bear  is taking me to lunch. :):)  What a man !  Hope you have a great day. XO

    1. Diana, I cried at the Hollywood Bowl,Walk of Fame, the Santa Monica pier. The Groman's Chinese theater. The Golden Gate bridge. The first time I saw the oceans. Yes, I am a sentimental slob.. Already voted, now we can take the sign from our lawn. Had a fun lunch with my Teddy Bear. Hope your day goes well also. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  2. I dislike most of the people running for office and find myself voting against people as opposed to for them.

    1. Janet, Some times I just vote against who's in office...if everything is still a mess. LOL. I am done voting and had a nice fun lunch with Ted. It's getting colder and I am enjoying a warm coffee. Hope your day is a good. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Patty, I do pray for all our world leaders...even the ones I want to kick in the back side. This is no where near the world it was 30 years ago. I hope you get to NYC one day. We used to belong to a travel club...that sure made traveling easy and a bit cheaper. Yes, even those days are gone it seems. I did my voting and had a great time at lunch. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  4. Beautiful pictures of Lady Liberty. Even though I live so close, I have never seen her in person.

I've already voted too. I vote for the person who is Pro Life. I would never vote for a person who believed in killing babies no matter what his/her other stands may be.

    1. Hi Kathy,
You and Joe should get a trip up to go to NYC...so you can see all the wonderful sights there. I am so glad to be done with this election and the next one will be worse with all the nasty ads. 6. I've never been to NYC. Probably never will. Hubby is not fond of crowds, and I'm sure that's what NYC has.:-) xo Nellie

    1. Nellie, We went to times square...everyone there was a visitor. LOL. I was not crazy for the crowds in the Empire State Building. It was the most crowded. I guess that's one appealing thing of our hometown...small numbers. LOL. xoxo,Susie

  7. I'm afraid that most of us vote against someone rather than for them..Very sad..Kinda like "the lesser of two evils"...Great pictures of Lady Liberty..

    1. Missy, Finally , someone who can understand how I vote most times. I split my ticket all the time. It is the lesser of two evils...and some times there's not even that. They none want to work with the opposite parties. I would love for us to have a third party. LOL. Bless you, xoxo,Susie

  8. Hello dearest Susie!
I too so love our Lady Liberty!
Let's hope today's vote brings some peace of mind for concerned Americans, like me. I see government waste to the fullest everyday, and am on the front line of the changes that are occurring in healthcare. We are intentionally lied to by our president, over and over again. It's all on tape. The leaders of our country are mean spirited and dividing. Blogging with great hearts like you and your images of Lovely Liberty give me peace today.

  9. Praying for His Mercy over our country; so thankful the ads will stop. We vote by absentee ballot and I enjoy not having to get out to go someplace.

  11. that bottom photo is stunning. I can't even imagine what that would feel like to see, or even what it was like so long ago for the arriving immigrants. Had to be quite over whelming.

  12. I feel the exact same way Susie. Negative campaigning makes me want to look the other way. I just hope, like you, that they will do what is good for our country.
I plan on going to Horton's on Saturday, btw!

  13. Susie,
I've always wanted to go to New York. My niece lives there and said it's sooooo cold. I heard it was pretty with all the snow during winter. I'm glad I got to see some of your pictures. It makes me feel like I'm there.....maybe someday. The purple sky in the first picture is beautiful.

Did you have a nice lunch with Ted? I love it when husband takes me out for a bite to eat.

    love,

  14. I live relatively close to New York City and yet I've only been there twice. Once in 1956 when the family went to Italy. There was a snowstorm in Boston. The second time was in 2005 when I went to see Cream at Madison Square Garden. I hope to get there some day and see some of the sights. As you may or may not know we here have a natural rivalry with New York, mainly due to the Yankees. Boo! Still it is the Big Apple and one of the great symbols of America.
    Very nice shots.
