Green Lawn...

I took this photo on Saturday. The sun was shining. The grass looks pretty green for this late December day.  Under these pine is our bird feeders. It gives the birds a hiding place when a hawk is around.  We have ivy under these trees...but we keep it trimmed back , so it doesn't climb the trees.
It was sunny and frosty this morning, Monday. It was colder all day. Those 40 degree days have spoiled me for winter weather. LOL. Who wants  to see old snow now.  I know it's a coming. So I will be counting the days till spring.
I know I have a  major project to redo one of our flowerbeds. I just let it get out of hand last year. So I will be making some little drawings of how I want to change it.  I also am going to be thinning my mums in the front flowerbed. They are getting to bushy  and taking over. Ha...seems strange to be talking of flowers here in December.
Wishing all of you a nice evening. XO

  1. I need to do a little yard work too. It became so cold here for a few days, that my poor tomatoes dropped. I guess I needed to cover them with a something better.

  2. Hi, You are lucky you are having 40 degree weather; it is supposed to drop to -18 tonight. Been snowing for several days and I'd be pleased to have sunshine and warmer days. I'm getting to where I don't drive much in the snow.
    Have a fantastic evening.
    Hugs,

    1. Oooh, Ga. girl...I hope you do not have ice this winter either...it can be so destructive. My brother lives in Anniston, Ala. that's in your zone. He has a snow shovel if you ever need to borrow. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  4. There is still quite a bit of green around our complex. Most of the trees are just now turning yellow and brown. My plants on the balcony are doing great, so I have a little green close by.

    1. Oh these new colder temps will take the green from this lawn. LOL. Gert, I am hoping since we made it thru dec with little snow...that the rest of winter is just as kind. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  6. That is a beautiful picture...I love ground ivy, I have German ivy much like this and sometimes it wants to grow upward but just doesn't have those "suckers". I think about spring and the projects, too. We are redoing our crumbling porch, sidewalk and driveway and having some shrubs pulled out. It will take a lot of research to decide what to plant.

No snow here but it sure is cold!

    Happy New Year, sweetie! :)

    1. Nellie, The reason I am even thinking of spring , I saw my flowerbeds this week as I walked around outside in those nice 40 degree days. Yikes. So much work to do. When it snows on the beds, I won't be looking at them thinking of work. :):) Bless you, xoxo,Susie

    1. I remember telling Teddy about some poison ivy and it did not cut it out...so I will be looking for that vine come soring. The bed I let go is in the back...but I am ashamed, for it is where Emma keep her fairy garden. I do like to do late winter gardening, such as clearing out the dried things from the beds. I wish you luck with yours too Judy. xoxo,Susie

    1. Well I absolutely love your name.....cause I love sunshine. I know what you are saying about staying up beat during winter...that is why I hate a snow that never thaws...cause once in a while it's good to see the grass even when it's brown. :):) Blessings to you and yours for a great new year, xoxo,Susie
