It is cold today. All this came in yesterday. The worst is yet to come. Six inches of snow for this evening. This was as it started yesterday.
There was a line of sparrows on the railing. I don't know if you can see them. This is a new bird habit here I guess. I leave the mums and black eyed susans standing through winter for the birds. Now the birds are making a habit of sitting on the railing and leaving little droppings. Dirty birds. LOL
They are sitting on the garden flag stand. They fight all the time, but take time to huddle together. Like some humans . :):) I keep there feeders under the pines, you would think that would be a good hiding place for them. Maybe when I cut the dried plants down later this winter, they will stay in the pines.
Hope all of you are safe and warm. Be careful when going out. XO
No snow here and none forecast I am happy to say. It has turned bitterly cold, though. Stay warm and safe my friend. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteLaura, It is very cold here also. Threatening to get worse. Right now the sun is shining and so pretty...but the snow is coming this evening , up to 6 inches. Hope you are doing well. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
Deletehard life for birds in winter,
ReplyDeletekeep warm!!
We feed our birds, I leave the flowers up for them to eat seeds. Sparrows are all I have seen here for weeks...I do not know what is happening with our birds. It is cold here and the snow is coming this evening, up to 6 inches. Brr. Take care, xoxo,Susie
DeleteWe were under a tornado watch yesterday with highs in the 70's. By Thursday our highs will be in the upper 30's with lows in the 20's. The birds had better hunker down.
ReplyDeleteThe swing in temperatures is amazing. It's plenty cold here today. The snow is predicted this evening, six inches. Hope the wind lays low. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteYou definitely are having winter weather, Susie. Our temps are falling through the week, but the forecast has no snow mentioned. xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteLooks like you finally did get some snow Susie. Those birds know a good thing when they see it. lol! Stay warm!
ReplyDeletehugs,

Yes, I can see the sparrows on the railing! Those sweet birds. I can't believe the view you have from your front porch, Susie. It is snowing all around, lucky you. I know it is a bother sometimes for you, but it delights my heart to see. It's been very cold here too. I am just trying to stay warm. Have a good week, Susie.

Yup! We got it! I love that the sun is shining so brightly on the snow, but guess what I'm ready for now....SUMMER! We got around 6 inches but I heard you all got a bit more. I love that you feed the birds and leave the winter foliage up for them. I do too.
