Here it is raining with the snow just starting into the mix. This was at 12:30 Sunday.
Now the snow is big flakes and it's 1:10 ...getting much colder too.
This is at 1:30..starting to stick and cover. Time to think about when to go out and start clearing. You know the snow sticks to the places you have to walk or drive first. LOL .
Here it is 4:00 or so, I have cleared the drive and walkways. Part of our porch is cover and part is not..so I always clean it too. I can usually sweep it off the porch. Here is the good news we ended up with about 1 1/2 inches of snow. It truly missed us. The forecast had called for 3 to 5 inches. So I am thankful. Honestly we need to keep the east coast in our thoughts and prayers. It is not looking good for them. Scary actually.
Yesterday was a gloomy day, got dark early. I ended up making beef stew, instead of soup. When Ted returned home , he had a nice big dish of it for his dinner. Today at this time, the sun is out and I am loving that. We need to go to the store for a couple things , so we may eat lunch out . Enjoy your day. XO
Glad to hear that your snow didn't amount to much. I do feel sorry for those on the east coast, but it does get tiring that the national news is always/only concerned about what happens on the east coast - and of course the weather seems to always be their major concern these days. Anything else happening in the world, whether thousands are slaughtered in other countries or terrorists executing hostages, takes a back seat to the weather in the USA. Sorry, that wasn't meant to be a rant, just an observation. Enjoy your day, Susie. :-)ReplyDelete
Judy, You are right, some times the weather is the big news in the U.S......for those other places and situation...I pray for all our world leaders to make the right choices and help all their people live good lives with out war. That is our everyday world...everyday..we can pray for mankind. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
I hope you get the things you need and get to stay inside today! We stay inside if it's windy! lol We're wimps! Stay warm! Hugs, DianeReplyDelete
The sun is still shining and I am loving it. It is helping things to melt a bit.. Ted is filling up the wood box by the back door. That makes keeping the fireplace going an easier job. You made me laugh about the wind. Love you girl, SusieDelete
It's a lot of work, but your yard is gorgeous!ReplyDelete
Honey this yard makes my tummy hurt when it has unknown things growing in it.LOL. We just try to keep things neat and tidy. I always clear the drive near the house...in case of emergencies. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
You have a pretty place. I can't imagine having to shovel snow. I live in the south and we don't get it often and when we do I try to stay out of it.ReplyDelete
Sylvia, you made me smile , saying you stay out of the snow if it comes to you. Bless your heart. I will tell you...the parking at the grocery is scary slick...one day someone will fall and be hurt. xoxo,SusieDelete
Sounds familiar Susie..Have a good week..ReplyDelete
Missy, I think I am spoiled now...I am ready for spring. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
No snow here, Susie. We did have a little rain last night, but it didn't last long. We do have colder temperatures than last week, though. xo NellieReplyDelete
Nellie, that is good news. The sun is shining and I am loving it. It's plenty cold though. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
Susie, this post made my heart sing to see your snow come around hour by hour. You know, I love my new home, but it's smaller so it doesn't have a big porch at all. So when I see pictures of your porch, I admire it so much. You must love that big front porch of yours! Thank you for showing us a bit of your area often, I really enjoy it. And beef stew......Yummy.ReplyDelete
Have a good week, Susie.
Sheri, We had a small over hang style of porch...so we made it into a deck like porch 12x 21....so much is in the sun.. Thankfully the pine trees and a big hickory nut tree gives us shade, most of the day. The sun is shining today and I am loving it. Hope you are having a fun day. xoxo,SusieDelete
So glad you didn't get what they were calling for! We got nothing but rain, so that's ok with me. The east coast is not the place to be this winter. Prayers for all in the path of these storms.ReplyDelete
Hope you get to eat out!
Tete, I truly worry for older people who will never ask for help, or has no one to check on them... we have to be helpful to our neighbors. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
I was glad to see we did not get as much snow as they thought too. Just enough to cover all the dead and dirt spots to look pretty. I do feel for the people out in the North East praying they do well with all the snow headed for them. Glad you had a good Sunday. Enjoy the week ahead.
Thank you Kris. I worry about the waves being up to 20 feet tall on the coast...now that can do damage. Seems one place will just get on it's feet then it gets hit again. We have had crazy weather. Stay safe. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
So glad you were able to get less snow than predicted Susie. I wish we would get the snow you were supposed to though. We really really need it here. I'm keeping my snow shovel handy just in case :)ReplyDelete
June, That is strange, I thought you lived near ski resorts.:) Well then you would need snow. We have had about 4 snows and I am ready for spring. Ha. Susan Branch said on her blog today, that Joe took the shovel into the pantry to have it if they need it...they lived at Martha's Vinyard.....So they are going to get plenty of snow and winter weather. God be them on the east coast. Take care, xoxo,SusieDelete
oh i just cannot tell you how much i detest snow and cold weather! but your beef stew sounds so delicious!!!ReplyDelete
Bee, I am not loving winter any more. I liked it as a kid...tolerated it as a young working adult, now I am old and almost hate it. LOL. The stew was really good. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
Yesterday was a snowy chili kind of day here. We do go out and it was slippery when we came home. I would guess we got 4 inches. We never really got the rain just snow. It's pretty cold here but the sun is out. Yes, I worry about those on the East Coast......mostly for power outages. Take care.ReplyDelete
Debby, You know that even a small amount of snow with fierce winds blowing can seem to be much more. I would say we are lucky. You use care going out and about. I walk like Tim Conway when he played on Carol Burnett show. :):) Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
While I am sorry for the dreaded snow storm about to overtake so many - just a sprinkling here would be nice. None so far this year and it doesn't look like we will be having any!! It is springtime in Texas today with 70 degree temps and blue skies and allergies!!ReplyDelete
Stew just GOES with cold winter weather!!!!
Linda, If you go to Nellie's blog, Berries and More...you'll get to see something trying to grow in Tenn. I was amazed at that. I was talking about the allergies being bad there in Texas. Hard to believe all the crazy weather. Hope you and LD are good. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
BRRR, it looks cold.ReplyDelete
I love your deck and pretty bench.
Hi BJ, the temps are colder since it snowed...but boy we truly got lucky, not so much snow fell after all. The sun was shining today, and I was loving it. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
I'm watching the news here in CA and the East Coast in so in for a blizzard. We did have a refreshing rain today, and that was welcomed as we need it so badly.ReplyDelete
Wanda, It was good for Ca. to get rain...we just don't want you to get too much at one time. That is scary to me. I just think that it would be awful to have to shovel your roof...I could not rest with 2 feet of snow on my roof. It gets heavy. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
Good Morning, We have been lucky so far and enjoyed the weather getting into the 50's yesterday. I keep praying for those on the East Coast that it won't be as bad as they say it will be. Mother Nature hasn't cared what area she has hit this past year nor starting into this year. We may get some snow this weekend. Have a great day and stay warm. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri FriendReplyDelete
Shirley, I do pray for our nation. We can't think of just ourselves when it comes to people being safe. The weather has been really wild the past year and starting this one also. Stay safe sweet lady. xoxo,SusieDelete
Yay! Missed us, too. It's actually a nice and sunny day today. These have been great days for cooking.ReplyDelete
Carol, That was a close one for you. Looks like Boston really got it. I just could not take 2 feet of snow or more...I would have to move.LOL. Take care when going out and about. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
Glad you just got enough moisture to give things a nice drink! The poor people that are facing such drastic weather. Yes, we need to keep them in our prayers. Rained a little here today, but yesterday it was absolutely gorgeous and Spring like.ReplyDelete
Hi Jann, Glad you got some needed rain. We have had very little snow , compared to last year and the years before...of course winter in not over , I may be dreaming here. Today the sun was wonderful(Tues). Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
The east coast of GA is still dry. There was a small percentage of snow in the forecast yesterday and today. It looked like it may several times, but the sun came out. I personally would love some snow. NOT ice! After last years ice storm, I never want to see ice again. Our county was declared a state of emergency. NEVER! I have never been so afraid and cold in my life.ReplyDelete
I will begun my dig out shortly after I finish my walk around blogger. We got about 24 inches of snow around my way. All is well though. Yeah it's a big mess. It's won't be the last time we get snow. If you live here you get snow. It is New England after all.ReplyDelete
