Snow & Robins....

We got about 7 inches of snow. It is so light and fluffy.  We will be digging out today. But the winds tonight will just blow this all right back. There was a 2 hour delay in school starts, this morning.
This shot is for Sheri at Red Rose Alley.  It is very pretty when the snow is on the trees.  I'll be bundled up soon , out there cleaning and shoveling. LOL
Here's my sweet robins on the mantle. I got these at a craft place at Amish Acres, in northern Indiana. Robins are my favorite bird of this area, because they are a sign of spring. I love their way of hopping on the ground.
I love their sweet song too.  I am so glad we went to town yesterday and bought 80 pounds of bird feed. Ted filled all the feeders. The birds will be busy at the feeders today, as they will not be able to find anything on the grounds. If you do not have feeders, break up some bread or crackers for the birds.  Some times, I cut up apples and oranges and put under the trees where they feed.
Take care out there today , everyone. XO

  1. You got a lot more snow than we did! We were lucky last night- only 2 inches or so. It is so cold. I love robins, too. 74 days until spring!

  2. The deer have been cleaning out one of my bird feeders so I have to refill it every day. I only put enough in for the day, I don't really want to feed the deer!
Your snow looks so cold, but pretty. We haven't had much yet this winter.
    Take care out there shoveling!

    1. Cheryl, we never seem to be bothered by deer...but I know they can tear up things too. Some times the squirrels will chew feeders up if they can jump to them. We have a corn holder form them. Keep warm. xoxo,Susie

  4. I always love how the snow lays on the evergreens, don't you Susie? I love the view you shared from your house. I love that you love robins too. I always hoe that the robins that come to my garden are the same ones as the year before. They are my little friends.
    sending hugs....

    1. Hi June, Some times I wish the birds here were from the year before. I do think hummingbirds may be. They know where the feeders are. They are in Mexico by now. LOL. I do love the snow on the evergreens. Just not on the roads. LOL. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie

    1. Cindy, I do love the sunshine. Especially when it's cold and the snow is on the ground. It lifts my spirits. I was out a couple times today shoveling and sweeping. My fingers were very cold...so I can back in when I had enough. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  6. Oh Susie, thank you so much for the picture. It is just what I needed today. I went out this morning trying to see a bit of nature, but didn't see any birds or anything. What would it be like to open your front door and see this winter wonderland? I didn't know the robin was your favorite bird. I see them around here a lot.

A happy day to you, Susie.

    love,

    1. Sheri, I love cardinals, blue jays, finches and hummingbirds. But the robin is my sure sign that spring is here. I love it. There's one bird I hate , it's the starling...they are nasty, can't sing, and mess with other birds' nests. Hope you get to see some nature things this week. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  8. I don't know where the robins go around here when the cold weather comes. I know it isn't far, because they are back again when we have a warm-up. Your snow looks really pretty, but I know it is something extra for you to add to that list of chores. xo Nellie

  9. I do like black and white winter shots.
We just got a coating of snow but it is getting colder. We'll be flirting with 0 in a day or two. I'll be thinking of a warm sunrise by the ocean.....

    1. Boston Boy, We had a heck of a day. Shoveled , used the snow blower, carried in wood for the fireplace. Suppose to be -26 wind chill tomorrow. I too would love a nice summery sunset, or sun rise. xoxo,Susie

    1. Carol, The only broken bone I ever had was, running in snow. I had forgotten there was ice under the new snow. I was hurrying to get into my sister's car....we were on our way to work. It was so snowy and quiet, that I actually heard my le break. It broke at the ankle area and spiraled up . ouch. I was 38. After that, when it's snowy I scoot my feet along...like some one very very old...for safety sake. Just always be alert. Blessings to you Carol. xoxo, Susie
