This is yesterday's sunset. It was a cold day, but the wind had died down a bit. That was nice. I am so thankful the sun did shine all day.We are to start getting ice and snow this afternoon. Not looking forward to that.
Here's my granddaughter, Sierra. She has been living back home with her parents for a few months to get back on her feet. Her lease was up in Florida and she thought she did not want to pay that much rent again. To live in a safe community the rent is higher. So she has lined up different areas, for job opportunities and living . She will be moving back to Florida this week. She has lived there for four years . She says she can't take this Indiana cold any more. LOL. Neither can I. She will be in my prayers to be safe getting back to her friends. When I think of all those days , she and I would color and draw.....makes me a bit sad. We have to let them grow their own wings, I guess.
Hope we all can survive this cold , snowy, icy, windy winter. LOL Take care on the roads. XO
She's a lovely young lady. I'm wishing her the very best. We love living in FL but don't live on the coast so the prices aren't as bad. Enjoy your day sweet friend! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteDiane, Sierra will be with friends, till her new lease is signed. She says she can not live in any seedy parts of towns...for safety sake. That helps us back here that will worry for her. I just keep her in my prayers at all times. Hope you are having good weather...that is what Sierra wants, bless her heart. Take care I love you new hike. xoxo,Susie
DeleteBeautiful girl, I sure understand what she means about winter. We don't get nearly as cold here in Georgia as you do and yet I sometimes find even that is too cold.
ReplyDeleteI laughed at my g.daugher because she said she was freezing when it was 50 degrees. To me that is nice weather. Stay warm there. I am worried for the ice that is headed our way. xoxo,Susie
DeleteYour Grandaughter is beautiful. I still can not believe you have grandchildren that old! I am sure she shares those wonderful memories too!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ann. I think she is a beauty too. I have two step grands that are older...then there's Sierra and Korey who the same age with in 6 months. They grew up way too quickly. I miss their little ball games and all our coloring times. Blessings Ann. Be careful if you get ice tonight. xoxo,Susie
DeleteMaybe you can visit that gorgeous girl here in the Sunshine State!
ReplyDeleteJapolina, Sierra's mom has visited her in Florida. But Sierra's basically a night person. ...I hate watching people sleep almost all day. LOL. Hope you and your fellows are doing well this new year. I am ready for some warm weather. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteSierra is beautiful and I love her spunk!. I can definitely identify with the sadness of just thinking of a child of mine moving away.
ReplyDeleteIt has finally warmed up here. 30 degrees!

Blondie, I think Sierra has abit of her grandmother Maddie in her. That is her spunk. My mother was a hard working tough lady. Yes, 30 degrees will seem like a heat wave. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteHappy Sunday Susie. Yep it is so so cold. I guess our winter is finally here to stay for a few months ughhh! I am heading down to Florida in a few weeks to help my mom move out of her home into a senior apartment so it will feel good to get out of the cold up here for a little while. Your granddaughter is gorgeous. Hope she finds affordable living with a great job.
ReplyDeleteKris
Hi Kris, We are icing up here a bit right now. it's 8:00 pm. That will be great for you to have a trip to Florida at this time of year. I hope your Mother like her new home. My sister has a nice senior citizen's apartment, I like that they have certain rules, no kids living there. A clean laundry area. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteSuch a pretty girl. My daughter was just like her but she went to Colorado after one year of college. All alone at 19. Well, she is still there with her family. I hope the storm doesn't hit you too hard. It said it was in Indiana right now. Not crazy about the ice coming this way. Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteDebby, My granddaughter has always loved Florida...from the family vacations they used to take. She lived there for those years after school...but came home when her high dollar lease was up. She will work hard, but every penny was going toward rent and car expenses. So she came home and worked up some money to go back and start again. She has many friends there...so that is a comfort. I hope you don't get the ice. It is slick here already. I would rather have snow than ice. Be safe. xoxo,Susie
DeleteYour granddaughter is a beauty. I wish her well.
ReplyDeleteYour sunset is awesome! Be careful in the winter weather. We've been lucky so far and haven't had much ice or snow, but I'm already longing for spring!
Thank you Cheryl. We do not over do in the cold. Shovel in shifts. Take breaks. We just try to stay on top of the snow. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteOh, she is so pretty...I understand about letting them grow up. And move away..sad... But that is how life goes. Be safe, in this nasty winter weather.
ReplyDeleteThank you Gert. Sierra has some gypsy in her soul. She could never be a hometown girl. I miss her when I can't see her as much as I would like. You know what I am saying? Take care, xoxo,Susie
Deleteisn't she lovely, best wishes on her move and new job, its so hard to see them grow up,,,
ReplyDeleteLaurie, Thank you. I just would love to be with Sierra more. It is hard to see them move away form family. I am thankful she has friends in the area of her job and new apartment. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteSusie,
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughter, Sierra, is so pretty. She looks like a model. I hope her journey back to Florida is a safe and pleasant one. I have a few blog friends from Florida. Yes, it's hard to get into a new place in a good area. It seems like they are all taken. Jess had the hardest time finding a nice place, but she finally did.
Have a blessed week, dear Susie.
~Sheri
by the way, that sunset is so lovely.
Thank you Sheri, for your good wishes for my g.daughter. I will up date on her. We want our children safe, where ever they go. The world is kind of scary any more..it's harder to let go. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteSierra is a lovely young woman...and after living in Florida for 4 years, I bet she WAS cold! Praying for safe travels for her, and that her future goes just as she wishes!
ReplyDeleteLinda, Sierra had to buy a winter coat while she was here...she had no coat after living in Florida for those years. Funny isn't it? Thank you so very much for prayers for my g.daughter. You are so kind. Bless you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteShe is very pretty. There's no place to get a sunset shot like that around here. Maybe when it warms up I'll get a shot of the sunrise over part of Boston. There is a pretty clear shot down by the river. As long as I don't get run over.
ReplyDeleteBoston Boy, I have followed along with you driving in your little film clips...you do very well driving. My driving would make your hair grey, as I drive according to road conditions not the speed limit signs. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteKeeping Sierra in my prayers, too. So enjoy your sunset pictures. I'll be in Florida later this week to visit a friend from high school. Can't wait for the warmer weather. No boots and gloves!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Carol for the prayers for my g.daughter. I hope you enjoy your vacation in the sunshine state. I laughed about no gloves, no boots. Bless your heart. xoxo,Susie
DeletePrayers for Sierra as she heads back to Florida. Kind of wish I was going with her. Smart girl for liking warmer weather. I hope you didn't get the ice yesterday. We stayed just warm enough for it to be an inch of rain. Grateful for all miracles thrown my way.
ReplyDeleteTete, Thank you for the prayers. Yes, I too wish I had gone with Sierra. We got some ice on sun/mon. not too much...but I saw the power and light fellows driving the roads looking for down wires. The sun was out a bit and warmed up enough to melt, but things refroze. Still not as bad as it could have been. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
