Spring Trees....

The crabapple in our yard finally bloomed. This tree is taking on an odd shape....wish I could just be brave and trim it into a better shape.
The Tulip Poplar is leafing ,it flowers after it's leaves are out. It will have yellow blooms. Big puffy white clouds and blue skies, I love it.
This is a flowering crabapple in town.  Now I wish ours looked this good.
This is a magnolia tulip tree, also in town.  Their blooms are spent already. I wanted to post pretty pictures, because I needed to cheer myself . Oh I do have good news on my blood work. The nurse finally called me yesterday. She said the report was excellent.  That was a relief.  Now I can pick up my meds at the CVS.
Yesterday, my brother Steve took his wife, sisters Pam , Brenda , and I to see our sister Barb.  Barb was happy to see us. She was very aware. The nurses were giving her meds , she would sleep and be woke up every  hour. The report was a mini stroke. She will be kept there for another two weeks possibly. She isn't eating, says she feels sick to her stomach. She's in ICU.
Last night sister Brenda called and said the hospital didn't want her to have any more visitors , only her husband.  Well gee, wish they had said that at the start. We would not have gone to visit her if it was disturbing her or her testing  in any way. We did not stay in her room longer than 5 minute, only two at a time.  I am hoping to hear news today. Thank you wonderful blog family for your prayers.
Going to my dentist this afternoon. You all know how I love that .(not)  Enjoy this day . XO

  1. Good Morning Susie! I'm happy you were able to see your sister, if only for a few minutes. Sorry she's not allowed to have you visit soon. I know you worry about her. I'll keep her in my prayers. Okay, I must say, I love your crabapple tree, love it's unique shape! All of your pictures are wonderful. Have a great day after your dental appointment. I'm not at all fond of them either!

  2. Oh please don't trim the tree. It's oddness gives it the character. We have one in our neighbourhood , it is so original.

  5. Your trees are so beautiful I love flowering trees, but my allergies don't. Oh well, they don't last all that long, but are beautiful while they are here.

Still praying for your sister and hope she gets better each day.

  6. The tulip poplar is the Tennessee state tree. I wish we had one of them. Also, it would be lovely to add a flowering crabapple, too.:-) Still sending prayers for all your family! xo Nellie

    1. Nellie, We have two of these tulip poplars. They are pretty with the big yellow blossoms. I am trying to talk my daughter into a flowering crabapple for her yard. She has no trees planted yet. Her yard is very small, so she doesn't need trees that will grow 20x20. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  7. Good Morning Susie. Glad to hear your blood work was excellant. That is the start of some good news for you. Wow about the hospital saying no more visitors. I know she is in ICU but being a nurse I feel the family can really help the patient get better from the love and warmth of visits. They are pretty picky in ICU but I still think in small amounts of time and only one or two at a time over a period of time is a good thing for a patience recovery. So I say if any of you feel the need to go and see your sister then by all means do it. Love your flowering crab tree. Mine is finally getting full blooms on it too. Love how pretty they look. Have a great rest of the week.

    1. Kris, I think my sister gets up-set when her husband goes in to visit. He thinks she can shake this off and go home. He can be a crab. One of the nurse was saying things about family as soon as we showed up yesterday....I did not understand it. My sister seemed happy to see us. We never talked about anything that would upset her. Thank you for your understanding of patient care. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  10. Your trees are so pretty, Susie. I love all the spring trees. Hope your sister feels better soon and I always thought visits were good when you were in the hospital, but you do have to listen as they are the professionals. I'm so glad your blood tests are good. That is always the news you are waiting for..Happy Wednesday..Judy

    1. The visits were very short and only two at a time. Our sister told us how her stroke happened and where she was. She was riding her bike from a ball game in the park and was about 2 blocks from her home. Yes, getting a good report on my blood work and at the dentist today...is nice. xoxo,Susie

    1. Missy, I was stunned by that request too. It may be that the meds make her sleepy and they want her to sleep so her brain can heal. I am truly puzzled by how hard it is to find out anything. That new privacy issue almost leaves the family in the dark. I could see the trees are losing the flowers as the leaves come on. The redbud is still flowering although you can see the wee petals on the ground. Bless you, xoxo,Susie

I hope the dentist visit was good, too. I'm sorry about your sister. I hope things improve there. So nice that you are able to spend time with your brother, and sisters. That will help you all deal with so much bad news.
    God Bless all of you.
    Prayer for better days ahead.

  13. So thankful for your good blood work. I enjoyed all your blooming tree photos. It is always hard for me to prune a tree that is doing well, even tho sometimes they need to be shaped up. Sorry about the mixup at the hospital with visiting. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day. Remembering you and yours in prayer. xo

  22. I just love those crabapple trees around your town and at your home. Ours here blossom for only a short while. It's been in the 80's here too, but we had some rain yesterday, which I loved. My brother-in-law's funeral is tomorrow.....that will make me sad. :~ (

Have a terrific weekend, Susie, doing all the things you love on Mother's Day.
