A Big Thank You...

Thank you blog family.....So much. My daughter, Angie , is better. She had juice and toast today. She will be seeing her family doctor tomorrow. Even tough, no one truly knows anything yet. I told my daughter, she still needs some  information from her own dr. The ER dr. never called her family dr. The specialist in Indy has not contacted him. GAAAA... You know we have to be aggressive in our own health care.  People we can get lost in the system of health care. Stand up and demand answers. That is what I drilled into Angie this morning.
The migraine thing...could easily have been the problem. Many stressful things leading up to that moment . Angie was in the middle of her Zumba class, that she teaches , when she said her head felt like it was in a vise. I think once she became sick to her stomach, she started dehydrating.
I will get all of you wonderful people posted about this. In the mean time, I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart. XO

    1. Diane, Angie is better this evening, had some soup even. She will have to get all those reports together herself, I am sure. But we need to know what happened to be sure it doesn't happen again. xoxo,Susie

  2. Susie, I know how we can get lost in the medical system. We are just a number to a doctor and we have to stand up for ourselves as no one else will do it.
My son in law suffers from migraines and he usually has vomiting when he has them
I am so glad that your daughter is somewhat better today!

  4. I am so glad that she is doing better, Susie. You are right- we have to be our OWN health care advocates. It is a different world today than the one we knew with health care. xo Diana

    1. Thank you Diana. The way things get miss placed , lost, or not even turned in totally astounds me. So far this evening the ER drs. report never reached the family doctor . Gaaa. My daughter is sitting up this evening and had some soup. She is getting better....but I want to know what happened...cause it could happen again. too scary. xoxo,Susie

    1. Gert, I am sure you have learned, and probably the hard way...that we do have to take charge of our health issues. We tend to think our Drs. know it all and some times they don't have a clue.Thank you for the prayers. xoxo,Susie

  7. Prayers still coming your way. Have her check with a chiropractor. Her neck could be out and it will put severe pressure on the base of your skull and cause seriously bad migraines. Has she ever been in a wreck or had whiplash? Just day to day things can do it, too. Be very aggressive. I got lost in that system for 12 years and longer, letting it beat me down for too many years. Not any more! Fight and keep a notebook to show future drs! All drs visits and what for and what meds you have ever taken should go in it.

    1. Tete, I do keep a personal journal of my health. I will ask my daughter when the last time she saw a chiropractor. She is some what better this evening. Thank you for the prayers. it means so much. You are right about so many things...we seem to think whatever dr. say is 100 % true...when they do not even have a clue at times. My daughter will be finding out more next week. xoxo,Susie

  11. I know EXACTLY how anxious you were..and still are. I began reading your post before this one and felt panic sweep over me once again. You are doing the right thing by insisting on answers. Something was dreadfully wrong..and frightening. Of course she is my thoughts..how could she not be.
I hope she will be alright. You cannot go what I went through and not be frightened for someone with a precious daughter at risk. Take care..keep us posted. I am so sorry. I am glad she is better. I am so glad you are near her and can help. I wasn't. I am praying she will be okay.
    Love to you...

  13. You sure do have to be proactive. My children and others I know just take the doctors word for things. When more than one doctor is involved, you have to make sure the info gets to and from. Going through his right now. The symptoms that you daughter had could have been really serious. You never know with headaches. I hope that she will find other answers to what happened. Keeping a journal is what I need to do. So glad to hear that your daughter is feeling better.
I had a good time visiting my daughter and her family. I am home now and need to do a post. ((((HUGS))))

  14. I had a lady in my Sunday School class who all of a sudden had a headache and couldn't speak or walk and we thought she had a stroke. It turned out to be a weird kind of migraine. I did pray and so glad she is better. It's so hard when a mama can't fix it. Keep us posted and we will continue to pray.
