Thank you blog family.....So much. My daughter, Angie , is better. She had juice and toast today. She will be seeing her family doctor tomorrow. Even tough, no one truly knows anything yet. I told my daughter, she still needs some information from her own dr. The ER dr. never called her family dr. The specialist in Indy has not contacted him. GAAAA... You know we have to be aggressive in our own health care. People we can get lost in the system of health care. Stand up and demand answers. That is what I drilled into Angie this morning.
The migraine thing...could easily have been the problem. Many stressful things leading up to that moment . Angie was in the middle of her Zumba class, that she teaches , when she said her head felt like it was in a vise. I think once she became sick to her stomach, she started dehydrating.
I will get all of you wonderful people posted about this. In the mean time, I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart. XO
I'm glad she has an appointment to see her regular doctor. I'm keeping her in my prayers. Please pray for my family, too sweet friend! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteDiane, Angie is better this evening, had some soup even. She will have to get all those reports together herself, I am sure. But we need to know what happened to be sure it doesn't happen again. xoxo,Susie
DeleteSusie, I know how we can get lost in the medical system. We are just a number to a doctor and we have to stand up for ourselves as no one else will do it.
ReplyDeleteMy son in law suffers from migraines and he usually has vomiting when he has them
I am so glad that your daughter is somewhat better today!
Beth, I never thought of men have migraines ...it seems it is women who suffer them. I will tell my daughter about your SIL. She is getting better this evening and will be getting all the reports together for her family dr. Hope you are doing well. Thank you for the prayers.xoxo,Susie
DeleteI am very pleased to hear that she is better. I think you are absolutely right, she needs to chase up her medical records and perhaps get some answers.
ReplyDeleteTracey, Angie will be seeing her family dr. and rounding up the reports of ER and the Indianapolis hospital report also. She is sitting up this evening and did have some soup. xoxo,Susie
DeleteI am so glad that she is doing better, Susie. You are right- we have to be our OWN health care advocates. It is a different world today than the one we knew with health care. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThank you Diana. The way things get miss placed , lost, or not even turned in totally astounds me. So far this evening the ER drs. report never reached the family doctor . Gaaa. My daughter is sitting up this evening and had some soup. She is getting better....but I want to know what happened...cause it could happen again. too scary. xoxo,Susie
DeleteOh Susie, I'm so sorry to read about your daughter. My prayers are either her for continued improvements. And "yes" you do have to take charge of your own health!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Gert
Gert, I am sure you have learned, and probably the hard way...that we do have to take charge of our health issues. We tend to think our Drs. know it all and some times they don't have a clue.Thank you for the prayers. xoxo,Susie
DeleteSusie!
ReplyDeletePrayers still going! Keep us posted.

Thanking you for the prayers. it touches our hearts.xoxo,Susie
DeletePrayers still coming your way. Have her check with a chiropractor. Her neck could be out and it will put severe pressure on the base of your skull and cause seriously bad migraines. Has she ever been in a wreck or had whiplash? Just day to day things can do it, too. Be very aggressive. I got lost in that system for 12 years and longer, letting it beat me down for too many years. Not any more! Fight and keep a notebook to show future drs! All drs visits and what for and what meds you have ever taken should go in it.
ReplyDeleteTete, I do keep a personal journal of my health. I will ask my daughter when the last time she saw a chiropractor. She is some what better this evening. Thank you for the prayers. it means so much. You are right about so many things...we seem to think whatever dr. say is 100 % true...when they do not even have a clue at times. My daughter will be finding out more next week. xoxo,Susie
DeleteI am glad your daughter is doing better...I will keep praying for her full recovery!
ReplyDeleteLinda, Thank you so much. It just helps to know that others are willing to send up prayers. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteIt is good to hear of some improvement. Prayers still for her complete recovery! xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteDear Nellie, thank you for all your prayers and good thoughts. It truly helps. xoxo,Susie
DeleteThank you for the update and I will keep praying. I know you have to be persistent to get anything done in health care these days. God bless.
ReplyDeleteI know EXACTLY how anxious you were..and still are. I began reading your post before this one and felt panic sweep over me once again. You are doing the right thing by insisting on answers. Something was dreadfully wrong..and frightening. Of course she is my thoughts..how could she not be.
ReplyDeleteI hope she will be alright. You cannot go what I went through and not be frightened for someone with a precious daughter at risk. Take care..keep us posted. I am so sorry. I am glad she is better. I am so glad you are near her and can help. I wasn't. I am praying she will be okay.
Love to you...
Mona
great. i sure hope they get to the bottom of it. and yes, you DO have to be proactive in your own healthcare. i know firsthand.

You sure do have to be proactive. My children and others I know just take the doctors word for things. When more than one doctor is involved, you have to make sure the info gets to and from. Going through his right now. The symptoms that you daughter had could have been really serious. You never know with headaches. I hope that she will find other answers to what happened. Keeping a journal is what I need to do. So glad to hear that your daughter is feeling better.
ReplyDeleteI had a good time visiting my daughter and her family. I am home now and need to do a post. ((((HUGS))))
I had a lady in my Sunday School class who all of a sudden had a headache and couldn't speak or walk and we thought she had a stroke. It turned out to be a weird kind of migraine. I did pray and so glad she is better. It's so hard when a mama can't fix it. Keep us posted and we will continue to pray.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad she is getting better , that is very scary,
ReplyDeleteSo glad she is feeling better. Praying for answers and perhaps some good meds to take if needed.
