Getting Ready....

Well I have my snow shovel ready. It is raining at this time. The snow is to be here by afternoon. Hoping we do not get as much as the weatherman said this morning 3-5 inches  or so.  It's only 54 more days till spring. :):)  I know the east coast is going to be getting much worse weather than here.  I will keep them in my thoughts and prayers. No matter how many warnings, some are never prepared for it.
I will be writing letters and cards today. Reading then sorting magazines. I may make a pot of soup later.  I plan on having a nice cappuccino this afternoon. That's like a treat.
Yesterday when I went to Angie's....she was to make the cherry chip cake, but instead made cherry chip blondies.  Something along the lines of a brownie in texture but it was called blondies. She got the recipe off Pinterest.  Karen made the trip over to Angie's  yesterday, but her twin Liz had to work.  By the way, Angie says you can find anything on Pinterest.
Enjoy your day, stay safe.  Careful on the roads .  Check on your loved ones. XO

  1. The cherry blondies sound wonderful. I like cherry anything. Reminds me that I need to make my Door County Cherry Biscotti recipe again. Your pot of soup sounds like a great idea for a day that you're expecting a snowstorm. Stay cozy!

    1. Kris, I love cookies of any kind... sugar cookies are my favorite. I remember in school, when we had parties and room mothers(somebody's mom to make treats). Larry Bronson's mom brought us heart shaped sugar cookies with red sprinkles on them ...my first. Oh boy I love it. I like to bake when it's cold out side too. Or do laundry. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Patty, You made me laugh. I do not think you will get the nasty stuff that we will up north here. It's all to stay north of Indy. Except the rain. Ooo your supper sounds so good. I ended up making beef stew. Funny. I love to have the kitchen warm on cold days. Blessings , xoxo,Susie

  6. Well I have my shovel ready 'cause we're getting a big one on Tuesday morning, about 18 inches. Some areas may get 2 '. This all happens just as I have to go back to work. Oh well it's only 6 miles.
It's beautiful here today and an afternoon treat sounds like a fine idea.
I'm glad you're not going to get what were supposed to get. Now would be a great time for the weather people to be wrong.

    1. Boston Boy, Dang...6 miles might seem like going to the moon...if those roads are bad...please be careful. I have to be everyone's step in mother when it is bad out. LOL. It is just now starting to snow 1:00 pm. I am glad the yard was clear of snow...should be easier. Take care, xoxo,Susie

  8. I hope you are able to stay home and enjoy the snow without all of the problems it brings with it's beauty.
I think we are getting a little more overnight, I've got a pot of hamburger soup on the hob as I type :0
The cappuccino sounds delicious, I seem to be drinking more than my fair share of hot chocolate lately, topped with cream ....oh, dear.
    Be safe sweet friend.

    1. Jo, I hope you do not get too much snow. I actually think we may get way less than predicted. It has stopped already, at about 1 1/2 inches. That will be nice. I got some salted carmel hot cocoa mix from Junk Chic Cottage , as a gift. Wow, that was sweet. Stay safe. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  9. I wish I was there to have cappuccino with you. I don't think I've ever had it. It's cold and blustery here today. Was supposed to be warm, but alas, they were wrong again!

    1. Brenda, When you told about how you liked your coffee...it made me think of my daughter Karen. That's how she takes hers...and her dog does too apparently...cause she caught "Princess" drinking out of her cup one day. Oh my gosh I laughed so hard. Hope you are warm there. It's very windy now, but hey the snow stopped at 1 1/2 inches not the almost 5 predicted. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  15. So far, we only have had a bit of rain this evening...how about you?
Hope you had a good day playing inside and didn't need that shovel...

  16. Hope you didn't have too much snow. We had ice and 6 inches of snow the other day. And none of it was predicted. I like making chili and cornbread on days like that.

  17. Susie, the girls always find interesting stuff on Pinterest. Did you enjoy your cappuccino ? Cherry Chip Cake sounds so good. Yes, I heard it's freezing weather right now in some states. I have a blog friend that said that the lakes in her area are so frozen that people are iceskating and icefishing on them. Brrrr, that's so cold.

    love, ~Sheri
