Small Treasures....

Can you ever have too many baskets?? I don't think I can.  I found this perfect little basket for two dollars. I know I can use it to make a gift basket for someone's birthday or something.
Here's a tarnish resistant candy dish. Shaped like a heart, just the thing for Valentine's day. It was mark down to 3 dollars. I thought, what a deal !
One dollar for six napkin rings. I may paint them white or cream.  I use cloth napkins so much, I just could not pass these up.  It was a small treasure hunt for me. I had forgotten my camera and was upset with myself....I always like to take photos to glean through later.
Had a great lunch at the Cracker Barrel . It made me think of my mother while we were there. She always love eating there or Bob Evans. I miss her so much. If you are fortunate enough to still have your parents....hug them for me.  You are blessed.
Today is cold and gray. Snow and nasty weather headed into the midwest, then onto the northeast.  I have to think, spring is near and I am ready.  Enjoy this coming weekend. XO

  1. You found some real treasures! My favorite is the candy dish! It is pretty here in Texas. Cooler but still blue skies. Rain should be coming in tomorrow and will be more like winter weather. Hopefully the rain will wash away some of this mountain cedar! Deanie gave me the day off to rest so I am still in my gown and am thinking about taking a nap in the guest room. I could get used to these slow days......

    1. Bless your heart Linda. I know those allergies are taking a toll on you and LD. The rains should help. It is good for you both to rest when you can. Take care, xoxo,Susie

  2. What special treasures. I love baskets, and for years have used them in gift giving. Being a Pastor's wife for so many years, I tried to keep my gifts similar so for a bridal shower, would always put 2 pretty cups or mugs in a basket with a pretty cloth napkin, or doilie and a message that communication was the key to a good marriage...
I like the candy dish too.

    1. You too Tete. We will have to wait a bit longer for spring, I guess. I need a smaller purse sized camera. :):) Be careful this weekend. xoxo,Susie

  4. Sweet little treasures, I can see the basket filled with goodies for a birthday gift.
Our hometown is famous for starting the first Cracker Barrel store and restaurant, the founders, local folks who knew what good country cooking is all about :)
I'm a taste-tester for them, can you believe getting paid to try new recipes...lol
    Stay warm !

  8. Cute things you found. My sister makes gift baskets and sells them. They are always beautiful, so she is always looking for baskets. I love that little heart dish.

    1. Kathy, that was one of the reasons I started looking at basket...to make some bath, baby shower, bridal shower, and birthday gifts in them. You can fill them with economical things or maybe a handmade item. Hope you are safe this weekend. xoxo,Susie

  9. Oh Susie, I love your buys! smile... Everything looks like things I'd buy too. Those napkin rings will really be pretty when you paint them.

Yes, our weather is changing too. Snow in the forecast along with below zero temperatures! But it is still winter, I guess!

    Blessings,

    1. Gert, I think the blue of the napkin rings is not the right shade...so I think cream or white will work better. Hope you have some birds singing before the bad weather. Ours is coming in tonight. xoxo,Susie

  11. I may not shop for those kind of items but there are items in that kind of store that I might be tempted to buy. I have to do the opposite, unload things that I have collected over my lifetime. Not all of course.

It's windy and cold and another storm is coming. Not as big as the last one, if they are right, 6-12 inches. I'm not going anywhere until Tuesday.

  12. I'm in the same boat as you, Susie. I don't have my mother either, and I miss her terribly sometimes. I really like that silver heart candy dish, and what a great deal on the basket. I was browsing around for baskets the other day, and would you believe they were $15 - no way was I gonna spend that much on a basket haha.
