Young Love....

Very late showing these  photos...should just wait till Valentine's Day.  This is Teddy Bear, granddaughter Lynzie and I at her wedding in June of this past year. I had to take pictures of pictures...ever do that? :):) She could have been married in flannel with that beautiful smile.
This is the September wedding of my grandson Korey. His beautiful bride is Ashley. She designed this dress and made it herself.  She truly looked like a princess when she walked up to the alter. I watched Korey's face and it lit up, which made my heart happy. I knew he loved her so much .  I pray for my grandchildren's young love to last.
Speaking of young love, once Teddy and I were young ,  my oh my. . I can't believe I looked at him twice since his hair was longer than mine and he had a beard. LOL. I have always said , never hide a handsome face with a beard. He is the sweetest person truly. We both have changed our hair styles.LOL.   If I were to give young people advise...it would be to pick up after yourself and be trust worthy.... That makes it work for us.
Raining today, so thankful the ice did not stay. It was slick in the grocery parking lot early this morning. I had to drop Ted off to pick up his truck , as he had new tires put on yesterday.  While in town, I just went for milk and a couple things. I know where all the men go on Saturday morning now...they go by the store to get sodas , donuts and few odds and ends. LOL. There were about 8 men in line and each one had maybe two items.  Hope all of you are having a great Saturday . XO

  1. Good morning, Susie. Lovely pictures of "young love!" Like that saying of not hiding a handsome face with a beard! I must give that reasoning to some of the men around here.:-) xo Nellie

    1. Nellie, I have seen Lynzie's husband with a beard, he looks nice...he keeps it trimmed very close. Young fellows should wait to grow beards...they are way too cute without them. My grandson Korey grows one some times and it's red. So funny. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  2. Susie, I loved seeing a picture of you and Ted when you were young, and one of you now.....you are beautiful with that long hair. Sometimes I will post a picture of me when I was younger - those were the days, huh? Your grandkids are so attractive. I look forward to having grandkids one day.

love to you in the new year,

    1. Thank you Sheri. I used to tease that I would never go with a man with longer hair or a smaller waist than me. LOL. I truly my Teddy Bear. I like that whenever I am around my grandkids they are usually smiling...I pray that means they are happy. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  3. Susie,
What sweet pics of the wedding. I love the pic of you and Teddy. Ohhhh the memories!!! Long hair was all the rage so Teddy was right in style lol! Happy Saturday. We are getting the rain and ice now that will turn to snow later. I guess we all knew it would be coming. Last year at this time we had over 40+ inches of snow already so I will not complain about the rain and snow to come later.

    1. Thank you Kris. Ted and I have often laughed about his long hair. First I had him shave, then after a couple years we both agreed his long hair was past due to be cut. He tells that I scalped him. LOL. These days I do cut his hair with a flow-be.....it hooks up to the vacuum cleaner...sucks the hair up thru cutter blades and cuts to the length of the spacers that are attached. I save that man a fortune each year.LOL. Hope you stay safe while it's snowing and icy. The ice scares me...do not want to lose power. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie

  4. Oh, Susie!!! I LOVED seeing you and Ted when you were younger!!! But I also enjoyed seeing the more recent wedding photos of y'all too!! I can't believe you are old enough to have married grandchildren!! That's just crazy!!!
No ice here - although it was forecast and may come in tonight. I didn't go with my daughter, Summer, to Joplin, MO to attend a funeral over the weekend as I had thought about doing. She is driving home right after it's over this afternoon to avoid the coming ice conditions on the way.
I have to tell you - we sure are happy we 'found' you in the World of Blog! You are a bright spot in so many people's lives - ours included!!!

  5. Linda, I thank you for the kind words. :):) I hope Summer knows when to stay put if the ice should get bad. That is scary. We have had rain all day.. it's very foggy also. When I can't see the wood across the road, I know it's bad...the woods is about a 1/4 mile away, if that far. Take care if you go out tomorrow especially if there is ice...when it's icy, .I walk like Tim Conway did on Carol Burnett show, when he was Mr. Wiggins.LOL. Bless your hearts, xoxo,Susie

  6. Lovely wedding photos! Congrats to the newlyweds! And I loved seeing you and your hubby then and now. You are a beautiful couple.
We have had some rain today and it's supposed to turn really cold tonight. I'm so not ready for winter! But it's here and I have to endure it. :)
    Have a nice weekend!

  7. Thank you Cheryl. I think the nice temperatures and lack of snow has spoiled some of us...it sure has me. I have been loving to get outside and walk around. I walk up and down the driveways and around in a loop we have. I have stood out on the porch and enjoy the pleasant air...no harsh winds ...but today is raining, foggy and threating of worse to come. Like you said Cheryl, it is winter ...hey 77 more days till spring. LOL. Bless you, xoxo,Susie

    1. Hahaha Debby, I know girl. Ted's hair was so pretty and wavy like. I have braided one fellow's hair at work once. LOL. I am done with long hair on men and I truly do not like those faux -hawks on anyone over ten years of age. xoxo,Susie

  11. Oh how fun. When my son got married his hair was longer than his bride, and with his white tux, he wore hightop Reboc tennis shoes. What a fun wedding. Loved all the pictures..Thanks for sharing.

    1. Hi Wanda, I love that your son wore his hi-tops. I know a man 62 years old who still wears two different colored hi-tops at the same time. He just buys those converse shoes and mixes them up. :):) Has to be the artist in his soul. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  14. I love weddings and the love in the couple's eyes! You and Ted look wonderful in the first picture. He does not look like he ever had long hair or a beard!

My hubby and boys always had "buzzes" or crew cuts. Every once in awhile Jeff will get a stubble...like a celebrity. Ha!

I hope it's not icy near you. We had some wet snow last night and it melted by morning. Now it's getting very cold.

    1. Thank you Blondie. I am not a fan of long hair or faux-hawks on men. Ted always kept his hair clean and shiny. I like it better short. Well now also it's gray and thinning. I do think we are in for some nasty winter starting this Sunday. Stay safe. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  15. Love the photo of you two, and how they grow up so fast, married now themselves...how time flies. My guy had long hair a long, long time ago. It was was longer than that even. Then it started falling out on top. Cannot have the beard with the job now. They have to wear masks. Been in here catching up, love the snow dog and the sunset and green grass. We have some pretty green stuff here, too and some were mowing the first of Dec. I think they have stopped that silly stuff now though. Poor Emma and all that hair. I was like that, too and my mom finally cut my hair short. I grew it out again, and its a good thing I am not tender headed! We have fog here tonight and its dense in spots. We got rain and not ice yesterday. Wednesday is supposed to be bitter cold. I think it might finally be winter here. Have a great day!

    1. Tete, Some times Ted's hair would get tangled in his work harness(safety belting). He was a pipefitter for G.M.. Yes, honey, I think old man winter is coming in today. We lucked out on the heavy ice...I am so very thankful. I hate the damage ice can do to our trees . Stay warm and safe this week. We have 76 more days till spring. xoxo, Susie

  16. Susie, what a wonderful post. (You are so beautiful! Love all the wedding photos. The dress that was designed is gorgeous, that little gal is very talented! I can see what you saw in Ted (beneath all the hair! Lol) you two made and still make a very handsome couple.

So glad you had Emma with you guys, she is growing!! Hope you are feeling better as the days go by.

    Blessings,

    1. Hi Gert, Thank you for the kind words. Mt Teddy is a cutie. I wish I had better photos of the grandkids. My grandson's new wife , who designed her wedding dress, works for Maggie Soterro....a wedding dress design company. Ashley has her degree in fashion design. I would love to see more of her work.
I do believe we are in for some nasty winter weather starting today. Stay safe. xoxo,Susie
