I cut some lilies yesterday and made this bouquet. I put them in an old milk bottle. I love using the bottle as a vase. I put it on the table on the porch, so I could enjoy it while outside yesterday. Ted and I did get to sit a while on the porch. Yesterday was plenty warm...but not as hot and humid as it had been. Today we are having rain. Actually rain is forecasted for the next few days. The rain and heat is making things grow. The corn across the road is going to be knee high by the 4th of July, as the old saying goes.
Today is always a long day for me. So I am planning on taking things out of my closet and donating. It's been needing it for a long time. It I take out a dozen things that is a far as I normally get in cleaning closets. Maybe if I get photos of the donations , I'll do better. LOL. Wish me luck.
Hope all of you have a good day. XO
Good luck with cleaning our your closet. That is definitely a task I hate, although I am always so happy when it is done. Your lilies are so pretty. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteHi Laura, So glad you stopped by...I have been unable to open your blog at times...so sorry. I am sure it's from this end. As I do not know what I am doing at times. LOL. I hate going thru clothes...you would think I would stop buying them. Bless you, xoxo,Susie

DeleteDear Susie, What an odd year it has been with the weather. Our daughters have told us that it has poured while we've been gone and more flooding. Normally this time of year is fabulous. We had rain for the first time here on our visit. I love your milk bottle and your Lilies.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
Noreen, The rain amounts for this year are way over the top for many states. I would love to see Ca. get some of this rain...they need it. Hope your trip is more exciting each day. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteLots of rain here.
ReplyDeleteVacation was great. No tan lines, are you kidding. I am very vitamin D deficient, does that tell you anything. Hah. Good luck on that closet.
Debby, I put my feet in the sun when I sit out to get vitamin "D".. I am taking my first break from the closet.LOL. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteNothing prettier that a old milk bottle or jar with fresh flowers.
ReplyDeleteThat you. I have used that old bottle a few years now. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteBeautiful bouquet! We need rainy days to do those boring things around the home.
ReplyDeleteHi Ann, I am afraid that if I had been with Noah with 40 days of rain...I would still have a hard time cleaning the closets. LOL. Hope you are doing well. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteThat is a beautiful bouquet I have never cut my lilies and brought them in but I think I will! Good luck with cleaning your closet. I always try, but never get it done.
ReplyDeleteKathy, I am probably the worse closet cleaner on earth. LOL. No Kidding...I have taken out just a handful of things and already taking a break. LOL. Bless you, xoxoSusie
DeleteYour lilies are beautiful, Susie. I've never seen orange lilies before. It's nice that you had rain; I wish it would rain here cause it's been very warm already and it's only June. I need to clear out my closet also, and give away a few things.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy day, Susie.
love, ~Sheri
Sheri, This orange lilies are very tall and grow wild around here. I think they are called tiger lilies . I wish California would get some of this rain coming up out of the gulf...it just doesn't seem to go that way. It rained about three different rounds today already. The worst is south of Indy. I am not doing too well on closet cleaning.LOL. I have just taken a few things out. I think I'll hit the hall closet, throw out old coats. I am terrible about this. LOL. Wishing you a good day there. love you, Susie
Deletep.s. see if you can reach "sit with me in my garden" blog...it's written by Liz...she is showing roses.
Gorgeous lilies! You know, in the play "Oklahoma", they say the corn grows as high as an elephant's eye!! We've had a lot of rain also but it sure has played havoc with the plants in the ground. Most of mine have just rotted out.
ReplyDeleteJudy
Judy, I like that play. :) I always thought knee by 4th of July meant it was a good crop. I am praying none of us gets too much rain...but I know Texas doesn't need any more at this time. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
Deletelove your pretty flowers...
ReplyDeletegood luck on cleaning closets...I just hate to do it but I have a bag beside my closet door that I am filling up to take to Good will....
Bj, You have just given me the best idea...To keep a big trash bag in each closet , then put things in them. I am not doing too well at this time . I stopped for a break and have not started back in. LOL. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteHey, I'm like you I don't seem to clean my closet like I should. If I were able I'd move half of the stuff downstairs and flip them in the winter. My friend Sherry who cleans for us every two weeks, I hope will come the odd weeks and we can clean the closets! Lol
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are gorgeous! So juice you have a porch to sit on! Love doing that!
Blessings,
Gert
Gert, Cleaning closets just seems to be a big bother to me...it 's not like I could not get rid of more than half of my clothes and still have plenty. I'll never wear out everything I own.LOL. Hope you are doing well and not getting too much rain. Bless you dear friend, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI love your milk bottle full of bright lilies, Susie. It is 100 here today and no sign of rain. We've been cleaning out closets/drawers too. Makes me sneeze!!!
ReplyDeleteWow Mildred....what are we going to do , come August, if it's this hot now? We will all be slow slugs. I am hoping for a bit of a cool down. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteYour Lillie's are pretty, I love to use every day things instead of vases! I need to do some closet cleaning also.
ReplyDeleteSylvia, When you said you use everyday things for vases...that's a good idea. I once saw an African Violet in an old coffee can. It was sweet. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteWhat a pretty cheery color! I'm going to need to find some indoor projects this week! It's too HOT to go anywhere! I took a photo of the temp today....100! Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteDiane, I am still looking in that closet...it's like the biggest chore in the world to me. I must need therapy. LOL. Hope you get a cool down there. Bless you friend, xoxo,Susie
DeleteGreat project for a rainy day! Problem here is that we've not had much rain lately.:-) I've been giving my closet a "lick and a promise" every now and then.:-) xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteNellie, I did not get far on my cleaning.. Bagged some coats, Pick out a few things that do not fit. But any thing is a start. LOL. We had much more today. I hope the places that need rain get some from the tropical storm Bill. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteWe've had very nice weather. I generally try not to concern myself with the weather unless it's really in the way.
ReplyDeleteAll I see when I look across the street is another house.
Boston Boy, You make me laugh, I like your sense of humor.:) I just get the blues if we do not have enough sunshine. LOL. We had a some heavy bouts of rain today. Now rain is a bore on vacation, I know. But it's fun to just sit in a nice café and enjoy your meal while it rains. Hope you are doing well. xoxo,Susie
DeleteWhat a pretty bouquet in a very cool container!
ReplyDeleteThank you Vee. Hope you are doing well. We had another round of wind and rain. Lost a limb from the willow tree. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI've just come in from the heat, it is beastly! Sitting a spell on the porch with some sweet tea sounds perfect. Enjoy the weather!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Patti
Hi Patti. We just had more rain , with wind this time and lost a huge limb, from the willow tree. Sweet tea sounds so good. I used to slice oranges up and put them in tea when my girls were all at home. I sure miss my girl living with me. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
