Today I feel much better. I thank all of you for your prayers. Here's a storm that blew in on Monday evening. Rain, lightening and thunder...the works. Plenty of sticks to pick up for the yard trash pile.
Lilies growing very tall here and ready to bloom. I can not name these as I have no idea what variety they are.
This is the group next to the ones ready to bloom. I think these are tiger lilies. These can grow wild in the ditches around our area. I love all kind of lilies. I have seen some red ones that are very pretty.
I rode along with Ted , yesterday. He picked up a load of wood chunks from his brother, Mick's place. I let Ted do all the heavy lifting....I know shame on me...but I am still not 100 percent yet. :):)
I haven't much to post about. Just trying to finish getting well. I'll vacuum and wash sheets. Hey, that's enough for me. I think I'll do a deli lunch today. Too hot to cook.
Wishing all of you a great day. XO
You have a good day too and get completely well. I love a stormy day as long as it's not destructive and we also get plenty of sunny days!
ReplyDeleteThank you Judy. I like to watch storms roll in...I am just like you, love to watch as long as it's not a destructive storm. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteI love lilies. Yours are so pretty. Mine aren't anywhere near ready to bloom yet.
ReplyDeleteKathy, I have some short yellow ones, I think are called ora, or something like that.LOL. Then the tall orange ones. I did get some new ones last year they are by the water feature.I'll have to get photos once they all boom. It's hot here are you guys getting that heat? xoxo,Susie
DeleteYour Lilies are of the Day Lily variety..We have a lot of them here as well..Your weather sounds just like ours..Glad to hear that you are feeling better..
ReplyDeleteThank you Missy. I am thrilled to be getting well. I am a total whimp when it comes to having a headache. Blessings to you for a good fun day. xoxo,Susie
DeleteHappy to read you are feeling better Susie, there seems to be lots of sinus infections going around with all the Spring pollen in the air.
ReplyDeleteYour lilies are gorgeous, I love those long willowy stems and pretty orange flowers.
Hope the storms have passed, we get them often, and they bring hail !
~Jo
Jo, You got it right...that is what everyone around my town is having sinus infections. The drainage makes for a sore throat. The lilies stems are rather strong...wish peonies had them.LOL. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteAllow yourself plenty of time to rest and heal. It seems the older we get, the longer it takes us to get over things. I love lillies too. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteLaura, I have missed you...I some times can not leave comments at your site or it won't open fully for me. I am still following you though.LOL. Hey girl, getting old totally stinks. LOL. Wishing you a great day, xoxo,Susie
DeleteWe always called them day lilies or tiger lilies. Hope you recover quickly!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jo-e. I am so much better today. Hope you are doing well and enjoy some good days of sunshine. xoxo,Susie
DeleteHi Susie, Glad you are some better but you are smart not to over do. I love your selection of lilies. We've had several thunderstorms during the nights this week. We live very close to Lake Lanier and we get a light shower most afternoons, too. We ate Mexican out at lunch today and won't need supper - I love nights like this with no cooking! xoxo
ReplyDeleteMildred, I felt so good today, I went to visit my sisters that live near each other. We sat out to talk in the breeze, blue skies with puffy white clouds and listened to the Methodist church near by play hymns on the bells. I adore that. I told my sisters...just sitting here listening to the bells and see the beauty of the day was our true blessing. Oh I love days that Ted grills lots of food and he can eat for days and I do not have to cook.LOL. I know it sounds lazy...but I told him I did not retire to be a housemaid. Bless you, love, Susie
DeleteYou just reminded me that mother and I used to sit on the porch of her home to listen to the church hymns. Nothing sweeter. Happy you had a good time with your sisters. xo
DeleteGlad youre feeling better! We had some pretty strong storms here yesterday too.. and I did notice that there are some sticks lying around the yard this morning. looking forward to a nice day today!
ReplyDeletehappy thursday!
xoxo
vivian
Thank you Vivian. Today, Thursday is hot/humid and rain is headed our way for next few days.Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteYes, take it easy, seems sometimes it takes longer to get over stuff, especially as we age. (Pretend I didn't just say that..ha!) our heat has finally passed and now we're in the rainy season again!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Gert
Gert, It is harder to stay well when we are older...and I know I am washing my hands more than I ever dreamed I could .LOL. xoxo, Susie
DeleteI'm sorry you've been under the weather. Hope you're feeling much better now!
ReplyDeleteThe hot weather has settled in here, too. I don't do much outside when it's that hot, I guess my age is showing! :) Watering the flowers, etc, is done in the early morning or late evening when it's cooler.
I've always loved the day lilies. Some call them ditch lilies and I often pass by a bank full by the highway. So pretty.
Thank you Cheryl. I am so much better. Our weather is very humid...it's like August weather. I can see why those would be called ditch lilies, I do see many in the ditches along with queen Anne's lace...or cowparsley, as some call it. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteYes, that's exactly what today is, catch up day. And I told my son to pick up something from the deli cause I'm exhausted from the weekend. It was a hectic one. Sometimes we just have to have a day of rest, ya know? Glad you're feeling better, Susie.
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
