First there was Monday, Wednesday, Thursday with rain. LOL. We did not have rain on Tuesday, although it was forecasted. No sitting out today.
The hydrangeas are blooming. The plant is a nice size, but so far not many flower heads.
The lilies are loving the rain.
The Japanese maple is doing very well. The one near the road, not so much. I think it got some over spray from the farmer's field , across the road.
We lost a huge limb is the winds yesterday. It was from the willow tree and lots of sticks from the hickory. So The burn pile is full again and the lean to has more for the burn pile. But the yard is cleaned up.
That was a lot of picking up sticks and bending over, doing squats......and that was after I did an hour of Zumba Silver in my daughter's class , she's the instructor. It was the first time I have tried that class . I was sweating like mad when I was finished. I told some of the ladies, "Jump into the car and roll down the window and I'll drive us all around with our heads hanging out." Quick cool down. Just kidding them of course. Angie did a cool down stretch period for the class.
Wishing all of you a great Friday. Be safe. XO
We haven't had rain in what feels like forever and with temperatures hovering near 100º we sure could use some.
ReplyDeleteJanet, I hope you can get some rain there then. Too many places had too much. I know California can always use some rain. 100 degrees is too hot. Be safe if you go out. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteSusie - Today is our first day without rain in what seems forever. I got up this morning and opened the blinds and was amazed at the bright sunshine. Welcome Sun!!
ReplyDeleteJudy
Judy, Happy you are having sunshine. I am thinking the places that got too much rain...will have plenty of mosquitoes too. Bummer . Enjoy your sunny day. xoxo,Susie
DeleteWe had the same kind of week here and are expecting rain this weekend. Today is sunny and I need to get outside and enjoy it. I need to do exercises like you did too but I hate getting overheated!! You're plants are a bit ahead of mine- my Stella De Oro day lilies are going to bloom soon but I'm a long way off on flowers from my hydrangeas. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLiz, I hate sweating, but I knew I was headed right home afterwards...so it worked. The class is in a church's gym. Plenty of room.I think some of our plants bloomed early from all the rain and heat..it's like a green house. Wishing you a great day, xoxo,Susie
DeleteHi Susie, Love seeing all your plants. My daughters say all our plants are doing well, with all our rain. Hope you get some sun this weekend. We've got rain here.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
Noreen, I hope my hydrangea does better. I have to transplant one up front...it is not growing but about 10 inches tall...so sad. Enjoy your trip, be safe. xoxo,Susie
DeleteSusie, The rain is making everything look so pretty at your house. I am proud of you for doing the zumba. I need to walk or do some kind of exercise. I hope you will have a lovely weekend. xo
ReplyDeleteThank you Mildred. I am going to try to do that class every week...it may give me more stamina. Which I have noticed is waning this past year. I still shovel snow and sweep, but I do not rake any more. Not like I used to. I did do Curves (exercise program ) for a year after I retired...wow I was in great shape then. I know I need to work on my upper body strength. Hope you are enjoying some fun this weekend. xoxo,Susie
DeleteThe hydrangea is just gorgeous! And that Japanese maple. How we all love summertime, especially after a long winter. It just refreshes the soul! Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteJudy, Winter did seem so long and I am happy for summer to be here. I just wish we could have less rain at this time. It is standing in the fields and the worse is coming through this evening. Hope your weekend is nice and pleasant. xoxo,Susie
DeleteThe rains a comin' of Sunday. So far from day 3 of our vacation until now it has been lovely. Tomorrow looks nice as well. I don't care about Sunday. I'm staying in, not going anywhere.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers and yard look quite nice. I'm am not gifted with a green thumb.
Boston Boy, Glad you are enjoying great weather. The worst is coming through tonight..some tornado warnings has been issued. Oh I do not have a green thumb...as a matter of fact, I am getting lazy about gardening any more. I want hardy plants that pretty much take care of themselves. LOL Enjoy your weekend, tell Arlene hello for me. xoxo,Susie
DeleteI don't think that kind of 'cool down' would work here in the desert southwest! Rolling down the windows would be like turning the fireplace on HIGH and jumping in :) I hope you enjoyed your class and can walk tomorrow! Your lilies are so pretty, hope you get more hydrangeas! Blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy, I know what you are saying...some people call Arizona heat a dry heat...well hot is hot to me. LOL. AC has spoiled me..I rarely drive with the windows down. I have four big hydrangea flower heads on this one plant and the other plant is too short for any flowers.?? Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteYou have some pretty plants in spite of the rain. We mostly have gloomy days. :(
ReplyDeleteJane xx
Blondie, Yesterday was a bit depressing for me. No sun at all. Thankfully this morning the sun is peeking thru a bit. Hope we all get some pretty days...after all it's summer now. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteWe've had a lot of rain predicted but not really getting much. Hey, good for you getting your exercise...I hope you weren't too sore. I always took some ibprophen before I exercised...lol
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Gert
Raindrops on petals just beautiful.
