This is the front window display. Laundry?? An old fashion wooden ironing board. Under slips hanging on the line. Sorry a lot of morning glare on the window.
This is the beautiful Donna Reyne' , she is the very reason I have a blog. She is sweet and kind, and has talent for decorating and crafting. She had a booth this year.
This is some of Donna's things. recycled pictures, lamps, and home made pillows.
This aqua color is one of Donna's favorites. She makes these wonderful candles.
Donna had little white banners draped thru out her booth. It was backed by very old craftsman windows.
This is the adorable mother of Mrs. Horton. She makes up bouquets with so many different flowers and add ins....such as cosmos greenery and dill. She has been doing this every French Market.
These are a couple of chairs that Mrs. Horton has done herself. They were in different areas of the store. But seem to go together.
This one is in the area where there is usually crafting going on. So cute. I can tell you the store was so crowded that you truly could not take pictures or look much. I managed a few.
Our town was hopping like I have never seen it. Our county fair is going on at the south of town on the 4-H property. The farmers' market is set up in a parking lot east of the courthouse. The peddlers market was also happening, west of Horton's. I did not even make it there. Leaving town, in the north end was a motorcycle ride just taking off with the sheriff leading them thru our town. Something for everyone today.
Oh did I tell you the sun is shining and it is warm-warm-warm !!! I will show you what I bought tomorrow. Wishing all of you joy today. XO
yes, Yes....I wanna see what you bought. I'd love to visit that store. These warm, sunny days are very much loved.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, I just looked at my blog and three beautiful Lindas have left me comments. :):) I am blessed. I really wanted to buy more, but it was hard to gather things with the crowds and you had to pay each vender separately. I wanted to but more from the Horton's ...I can go back after the French Market and buy from them. We are having a wonderful day here. I sure hope you are too. I spoke with jy husband about your husband being offered a job with going thru the hiring ranks...he thinks it could be a very good deal....meaning the Co. liked your husband 's qualities. Praying for you both. xoxo,Susie
DeleteThis shop always is so charming...love the laundry display! Makes me miss my shop days! Sounds like a lovely summer there!
ReplyDeleteLinda, We are having a beautiful day. It's been so long . That might be why it was so crowded at Horton's. I will go back after the venders have left and look for more things. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteWhat a FUN time!!!! Loved seeing the market and would love to hear more about how you first started blogging! That first photo has to be my favorite! It brings back thoughts of simple slow days when hanging out the wash was such an accomplishment. We have driers now but just seeing the laundry on that line made me smile. Louis Dean has a line strung up in the backyard - for what REASON I cannot remember - and I hung some rugs on it when the house flooded. You know what I'm going to do? Buy a package of clothes pins and hang out a load of laundry!!! Yes! Why have I not done this before???
ReplyDeleteIf I ever get to Tipton I want to go to Horton's!!
Linda, We hung clothes out growing up...cause mommy never had anything modern. LOL. I can remember bring in frozen things. LOL. My daughter misses her clothes line , she always used it in summer .But their new place doesn't have one. Sheets smell good hung out. I may have to do a post on my start in blogging. Remember Horton's has 4-5 markets a year. :):) Clothes pins are a good craft item too. Blessings to you and LD, love, Susie
Deleteahhhh...I absolutely LOVE going to these markets. So much fun;
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming to my silly tea party...this is the 2nd yr I've played at A Fanciful Twist...and I must say, I have loved it. Maybe you will play next yr.
BJ, Bless your heart...I am no where near as clever as you. :):) One day I will have to learn to do all those fancy things to my pictures. I would enjoy it so much. Hope you are having a great weekend, xoxo,Susie
DeleteAwe, so delightful...My mom hung clothes and her lines were a work of art. I hung clothes for many years to before we could afford a dryer.
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling a little "French" after enjoying all the pictures....Love and Hugs
Wanda, My oldest daughter always loved hanging her clothes out in summer. I remember all of us using clothes lines. Then we had to iron everything but the towel and sheets...but the pillow cases were ironed. So thankful for wrinkle free materials. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteYup it's warm here as well. Tomorrow it will hit 90. I'm not looking forward to that. I'm sure we have a store similar to that around here and I know Arlene would love to go to it. That could be a trip for Sunday as soon as I find it.
ReplyDeleteVery nice pictures and I want to thank you for all your visits to my blog.
Boston Boy, I like warm...but too warm isn't for me. I think you and Arlene could go junking and antique shopping plenty there...Horton's is more for selling crafts and salvaged things. But so much fun. I love visiting your block, you have so many interesting things to post . Enjoy your evening, xoxo,Susie
DeleteLove that window display! I would truly love to visit there. Can't wait to see what you purchased. It is very hot here, too! Hope you have a good evening, Susie.
ReplyDeleteMildred, I love seeing the slips hanging and that old ironing board, sure made me think of mom. We used to iron all the time. I truly loved seeing the sun today. Hope you have a beautiful Sunday, xoxo,Susie
DeleteHope you have a nice Sunday too!

Kris, I know one day you will get to come to Horton's again. This Market was good, but did not have as many venders as before. I always like going though. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteHow I wish I were there and a county fair to boot...how fun can it get? :)
ReplyDeleteLove---hard to say more with t he hand.

Blondie, I could not believe how much was going on at the same time in our little town. I missed the Peddlers' Market altogether. I will go back to Horton thru this coming week. Even without the venders there will be plenty to see. I am wishing you a speedy recovery, hope you can be 100 percent soon. xoxo,Susie
DeleteSusie, oooo laaalaaa, the French market, sounds so charming. I love the "merci" chair.
ReplyDeleteThe county fair, are you going to go, Susie. I really miss our county fair, and have been thinking about going sometime. Maybe this year.

I went to the market. It was so beautiful out and you're right, the town was hoppin'! Such a fun place!
ReplyDeletePatty, Saturday was a pretty day.. That was one of our summer days. LOL. I was shocked at the people in our little town and all the events going on. Wish I could have seen you at Horton's. It was crowded when I was there. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
