Emma is back in the chair with papaw. Too embarrassed to let me get a good photo of her. I washed her hair this morning and braided it. She loves having two long braids.
This is some of her cartoon drawings. I think she is doing really well for being eleven.
This is a dog she drew. I asked her if she looks at pictures while drawing...she says some times. But most times draws after seeing a picture from memory.
She is into bears now and loves drawing them or making those clay sculptures.
She asked me to draw a picture of her. I told I would need a photograph to look at while drawing. So this is her picture she picked and my drawing. I think my drawing looks older than she does in the photo. LOL.
It was a some fun times watching America's Got Talent and drawing pictures and making clay sculptures. Going to D.Q. for lunch yesterday and to Bob Evans today before we took her home. The time seemed to have gone by so quickly.
Took her to her aunt Angie's for a short visit after lunch yesterday. Then to aunt Brenda's (my sister) . All kids used to measure themselves next to my mother, who was 5'2" , Most were taller by the time they were in 6th grade. Emma's heads taller than my sisters. :)
Today was a beautiful pleasant day. Hope yours was too. XO
what a beautiful portrait!! I think she has inherited your skill!! She does some beautiful sketching too! What a pretty girl, I love those braids,
ReplyDeleteThank you Laurie, I hope she always stays interested in art. She has her mommy long hair. I used to be almost in tears by the time got Liz"s hair combed when she was Emma's age. She had enough hair for three people. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteIsn't it wonderful to be able to spend time with your girl, Susie? Emma is growing so fast! She sure has a talent for art! she must take after her grandma!
ReplyDeleteLove the braids.
Debbie
xo
Debbie, It has been so nice to have Emma back here with us for a couple days. I miss her already. It's those little things, Like while I would be checking blogs...she would pop in the office and hug me to see what I am doing. Or I would go she what she was drawing or possibly watching on the Disney channel. We would get hugs all day. I pray for that girl so much. I see in her face and actions that she is growing up. I could cry if I think to long on that. I hope she stills with her art...she seems to love it. Blessings, love you, Susie
DeleteI agree that Emma must get her talent for drawing from you! So happy you guys had fun together. We love DQ! Very hot here today. Wishing you a nice evening and thank you for praying for my nephew. Love, Mildred
ReplyDeleteThank you Mildred. That was a ten minute drawing...might be why she looked older in it. I just am impressed with Emma's little drawings. I gave her my little sketch book to take home with her picture I drew. I told to keep one in the car to draw whenever they are on the road. Please keep us posted on your nephew. xoxo,Susie
DeleteEmma is very talented. I could not draw like that. Or like you! That is a great portrait of her. So glad you got to spend time with her.
ReplyDeleteKathy, I truly want Emma to keep drawing...it encourages her to improve. I have let my art slide...can't even explain why. I miss it. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteIt sounds as though you have enjoyed a wonderful time with Emma. She's a great little artist and your drawing is pretty nice too! Enjoy the upcoming weekend! Blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteCindy, I just hope Emma will stay with her drawings...to improve her skills. It was so sad to take her back home.. I enjoyed having those sweet hugs while she was here. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteShe is very talented, and my goodness so are you. Great portrait.
ReplyDeleteThank you Wanda...I am absolutely taking your comment as a compliment. ...you being so good at art.:):) I truly hope our Emma stays with her art. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteWhat a lovely time you had together and BOTH if you are talented artists! I can't sketch worth anything! I can paint but only if I can transfer the lines using graphite paper. Love Emma's long beautiful hair. Reminds me of Logan's. Has Emma ever had her hair cut?
ReplyDeleteLinda, I love that Emma wants to draw...and I think if she stays with it , she will be very good. I am impressed with her abilities now. Yes, Emma's hair been cut a couple years ago. I told her to keep her ends cut straight across as it is easier to detangle that way. I used to be in tears from head washing raising 4 daughters who wanted their hair long. It would take almost 20 minutes to get the tangles form Lizzy's hair (Emma's mom)...but I did it for them. I just pray they do not get lice at Emma's school...you know Sept is cootie month usually. LOL. Love you girl, Susie
DeleteWhat a delightful post. Sharing time with grandkids MUST be one of the reasons we were put on this Earth...love them all so much.
ReplyDeleteHave a really great weekend...xoxo
BJ, It is fun with our grands. We never see them as often as we would like...so when they are here it is important to spend that time with them. When Emma is watching her shows on Disney, then I do my blog checking. It gives us each a small break. :) But we are always hugging and laughing. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteWow..she's really good..it must run in the family..Glad you had a nice visit..
ReplyDeleteThank you Missy, I was a bit surprised at how well she was doing in art. I felt sad when we had to take her home. It's about 50 minutes to their house but seems longer at times. Blessings for a great weekend, xoxo,Susie
DeleteSusie, I can see where Emma gets her talent from. This is a wonderful picture you drew of her. Please tell her to keep drawing - by the look at these pictures, she really does have an artistic talent. The dog is comical. You know, all my kids can draw, and I don't know where they got it from because I can't draw at all. Maybe their dad haha.
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
Sheri, I am hoping Emma will stick with her art. I have seen a great change in just two years. I wish I had done better with my art. Hope you have a beautiful weekend, xoxo, love , Susie
DeleteI'm impressed with the artistic talent in your family. Do more!
ReplyDeletePaul, I'll try to get the g.daughters to do more art while here with me or even at holidays. I love art....that is why I loved your dad's paintings...but hey that man was so good. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteOh what a good grandma you are, and very talented! That picture was wonderful, I hope she'll keep it.
ReplyDeleteGert, I hope she keeps it in the little sketch book...along with what ever she will draw in it. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
