Our black eyed susans are blooming. Ted used his new weed whacker to cut some down in the flag pole flower bed. Grrr.
The cone flowers at the back fence are growing. I really like these. They are getting to the point where I could move some around to a new bed.
Our mums are budding out and blooming also. Gee, I am thinking this is early. I am not sure, I just do not leaf through or read my gardening books as I should.
On my way to Zumba Silver. Taking my camera to get a picture or two. I'll go by Horton's if I am not just a big sweaty puddle when class is over. LOL. Get some photos there.
Hope everyone is having a good day. I am saying prayers for our friends in need. XO
10 demerits to hubby for weed sacking the Black Eyed Susan's! You are way ahead of my area but I am pretty far north. It is pretty early for the mums. I wonder if you nip off the spent flowers if it will help to extend the blooming time. I read something about pinching them back in the spring to produce more compact bushy plants but haven't done it myself. I'm just glad to see mine flower when they do!
ReplyDeleteLiz, I may try that next year, as there's too many on there now and the plants are pretty high. I cut them back late in winter. I may just sit here and look on line...so lazy to dig in the book in the basement. LOL. Hope you are doing well. xoxo,Susie
DeleteYour flowers are lovely, Susie. I remember my brother using his weed eater on mama's flowers one year!!! as you say grrrrr!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day. xoxo
Mildred, Once my sister was mowing at mom and dad's and she ran over daddy's yellow tomatoes. He was not happy. I don't think Ted knew it was a plant. :):) Hope you are having a good day. xoxo,Susie
DeleteI think it's too early for mums where you are! It's too hot for them here, yet. My hubby is out with the week-whacker now. Wonder what will be missing when I go to check.:-) xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteNellie, I sure hope your husband knows his plants. LOL. I think all the wetness and heat is making it like a greenhouse here. I know this weekend is going to be very hot. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteLOVE the black-eyed susies. They are such a cheerful and reliable flower.
ReplyDeleteHi Jo(e), I have always loved them and daisies. The cone flowers are nice but I leave them for the birds thru winter. I look over your posts I have missed. Funny ,girl. I hope that paint was water prove in case of rain. :):) Who does that stuff.??LOL Hope you are having a fun summertime. Bless you, xoxo,Susie

ReplyDeleteNonnie, I did well at zumba...but the finishing of the walkway wore me out. LOL. I think about my old boss...his wife would chase him with a broom for mowing her flowers some times. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteLovely flowers.... I could look at them all year.

Debbie, I leave the cone flowers stand all year for the birds to eat the seed heads. My mums are always hardy and come back every year. That makes me happy. Hope your day went well. Love you, Susie
