On Tuesday, Ted and I picked up Emma, Savannah and Skylar. Took them to lunch.
They chose the Dan The Man's Taco Stand. A little café in Rossville. Serves Mexican food and ice cream. What more would kids want? It was an enjoyable morning with all of them. Skylar will be driving soon and he talked rides with Papaw. The girls talked about Savannah's cat's new kittens. We all went to the barn and looked at them. There were four of them. Little gray and white balls of fur...so cute.
Emma brought over her modeling clay, made by Crayola. This is all she has made with it. Emma and Savannah are going to be very good artists. They are my crafters too.
Emma stayed the night and will be again tonight. Here she is helping papaw eat his snacks. Some pretzels and peanuts. :):) When she first starting sharing papaw's chair she only reach above his elbow...now it's all that chair can do to hold them both.
On the way home with Emma , we stopped at the lumber yard for some project lumber. I like the office sign. It's a big saw blade.
Have to show a picture of Sam coming to greet me. Do not get near that tail, he can really whack you with it...cause he is always excited to have company.
Here is the queen's Anne lace that turned red in the food coloring. You can see the other bouquet in the background and it is still white. So the food coloring really did work.
Going to do a bit of clothing shopping with Emma...school clothes. I'll give Savannah and Skylar money to do their own shopping. Well with their mother that is.
Wishing all a good day. XO
Looks like a great bunch of kids, enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThank you Janet, They are good kids. They are the only ones we have left in school now. Except for Jake taking some classes here and there. I have always tried to help with clothes or school books. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
Deletebeautiful kids, that queens ann lace is beautiful, never heard of doing that!!!!
ReplyDeleteclothes shopping is not something I like to do!! But kids do,, well girls do, my son hated shopping!
Laurie, When My own were small...I shopped thru the J.C.Penney catalog...easy. The teen years were the tough ones. Now Sky and Savannah are teens ..just barely and Emma is eleven going on teen. LOL. I try to tell all kids...pick your basics and then accessorize. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI love what she's made with the clay. I have a new package and wish you could help me with it! lol You have such sweet grands! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Diane. I love each and everyone of them. Savannah is the shiest kid ever...hope she can come out of it for 7th grade. Emma is not as shy. Skylar is a motor head..love repairing things. I had never seen that clay before and it's not oily at all...although I made Emma roll it on a sheet of white paper. LOL.Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteYour young clay artist is talented! Keep promoting that. Love the items she made! Have a wonderful day, Suzie.
ReplyDeleteThank you Judy. I hope the girls will stick with art. Savannah signed up for choir again...that pleases me because she's so shy...I think it will help her. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteYour Emma with her Papa in the chair makes me think of our Kate with Grandpa in his chair. Jack and I are beginning to squish each other, too. That's cool about the food color and flowers.
ReplyDeleteKate and I are going shopping together tomorrow, too. Fun, fun. I think I will see about getting her some modeling clay.
Your kids are all growing up!
Nonnie, I could and have cried about how quickly my grandkids are growing. Skylar's driving just makes me feel super old. LOL. I like shopping with Emma , till she just thinks I want to spend hundreds on her...LOL. Wishing you and your Kate a fun time tomorrow. xoxo,Susie
DeleteGreat photos and a fun day! The kids are sure growing up! Love the tinted queen anne's lace. I will have to try that with different colors! Blue and purple! I wish we had a taco/ ice cream place. That sounds like a good thing.
ReplyDeleteTete, I feel sad when I think of my grands all growing up. I know it has to happen...but does it have to be so fast. LOL. I think Emma wants to do some lace too...she wants purple. Hope you can keep cool today. It is very humid out here. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteNice to spend time with the grandchildren..Good for all of you..We had Lads once..Those tails are deadly..They can clean off a coffee table with one swipe..Stay cool Susie..
ReplyDeleteMissy, I did truly enjoy our time with the children. You truly get it about Sam's big long tail...he can hurt almost knock you off your feet. Hope you had a good day. I am enjoying Emma , being here for a couple days. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

DeleteSusie, I was real curious about the Queen Anne's Lace and the food coloring. wow, it really does work! School shopping, oh how fun for the kids. I remember love going school shopping, although my mom made most of my clothes. This is such a good picture of Ted and Emma. You should frame this one, Susie.
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
Sheri, That granddaughter makes us laugh... she had put her big sleep shirt on and wrapped a fluffy throw around herself and came into the living room and said , "Oh snacks, papaw !" Then she jumped into the chair with him . I try to get the grands to understand that they need some basic clothing items and them just add a few pop pieces to that wardrobe. I love knowing my girls had some nice things to start school in. It was not always easy...but we did it. Blessings, Love you, Susie
