Yesterday evening this is how the wind was blowing, see the flag. Over the corn between the woods and the group of three trees is our town of Tipton. We are in for rain.
This is the view to the south. It was raining with lightening just south of that long cloud.
There is a patch of blue in the west. So I can see the sun is shining somewhere. LOL
This is the view over head. More scattered storms, rain, hail, winds, with bits of sunshine. A major heat index today and tomorrow. Temperature approaching 100 and the heat index well over. So where is our summer ? I think we may have had 15 days since May that we have not had rain or the threat of it. With the ground saturated we are having flooding, some of which is flash flooding when there's a dumping of heavy rains in a short time. I am praying for a dry spell. Sad that some of this rain can't be happening in the western states.
I have to find something fun to do today. It will be indoors. Take care if it's hot where you live, stay hydrated. Do not over do where the temperatures are soaring. That's my mommy advise to all of you...gaaa, I can't seem to help myself.:):) Enjoy your weekend. XO
It is really hot these days and being outdoors can be so energy draining. I find myself staying inside more. Have a blessed weekend,Susie.
ReplyDeleteSylvia, I was hoping after the winter we had that our spring and summer would be heavenly. You know, sitting out on the porch and digging in flowerbeds. It's toooo hot and buggy to be sitting out. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteIt's muggy here, thunderstorms expected ....
ReplyDeletejo(e)...your weather sound slike our...although the sun is out now and it is stifling . Miss the big shade of the hickory tree we just lost at the beginning of this month. I would try to sit out. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteIt has seemed more like Spring here this week...afternoon storms and not quite as hot temps. Enjoy your weekend sweet friend. Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteHi Diane, Your weather sounds better than ours...at this moment it is not raining but oh my it's hot and muggy. Hoping for some 65-70 degree days and no rain. LOL. bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteGood photos. I am wondering about summer too, not that I am wanting 90 degrees....but 70's would be nice. The rain has changed my plans for the day here too.
ReplyDeleteLinda, So funny, I just went ahead to town to see if my sisters would walk two blocks from their apartments to a yard sale. It was the girl's soccer team from the H.S. having a sale. We did it but I was sweating. LOL. xoxo,Susie
DeleteAmazing sky photos, Susie. It sure is hot/humid here. I have to "fight" with John to keep him out of the yard/heat. I was out there this a.m. giving ice water to the guy that cuts the lawn. You and I are a lot alike!!! lol
ReplyDeleteMildred, Your husband sounds like Ted...he will work in this heat and sweat like mad...I always tell him to drink plenty of water. If I do too much in this heat, I get a headache. So I am doing laundry now. I did walk with my sisters two blocks to a yard sale ...it was the H.S. girls' soccer team sale. I always offer water to any one working around here. I do think we are alike. :):) Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteWe've had a lot of storms this summer too, scary ones, but no tornadoes.
ReplyDeleteJanet, so glad you are not having tornadoes. I worry about flooding lots. I like just a plain electrical storm...you know where you do not lose power, or have wind damage. Take care, xoxo,Susie
DeleteYour weather sound much like ours, except we haven't had that hot of days. If there is rain at night, I don't mind-I just like warm days. Hope you find something fun to do today.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
Noreen, I do not like supper hot days...no even as a kid. Today the air is thick and heavy from the heat/humidity. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteOh yeah, summer for sure and I'm ready for the Fall already. I thought I was getting away from the humidity but Nashville is just as humid. Ugh. Take cool and hydrated.
ReplyDeleteI hope it's not as hot there as here. We are 105 heat index. Can not sit on the porch...too hot and muggy. I pray our fall and winter isn't as wet as this spring and summer have been. Blessings for a sweet day tomorrow. xoxo,Susie
DeleteI'm hopping over here with xxxoooxxx 's for you. I felt a little let down this morning and you've made me feel special. I'm so very glad we are friends. What a blessing you are to me. Enjoy your afternoon! Stay away from them skeeters! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteDiane, When you said skeeters..I have to tell this. My daughter's in-laws are , well maybe a bit backwoods...they wanted to call our grandson Skylar...skeeter....why??? it's the same amount of syllables...but sounded so "red" Well when they told my daughter they were going to call her daughter Savannah...cookie....Karen came unglued. LOL. She said that is not happening. After I read Sheri post...I felt I should let my special blog family know how much they mean to me too. We should not be afraid to speak out. Bless you, oxox, Susie
DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the fun comment over on the Spotlight. :-)
We have it HOT here in Wisconsin too. And the humidity is the hardest thing for me to try and smile about. ;-)
Have a blessed weekend.
Carla
Carla, I hate sweating my make up off and wearing Deep woods off as a cologne.LOL... I meant to tell you that my husband works part time at the Indiana Gun Club...skeet and trap. He says he has to remind people to wear eye and ear protection. Hope your sons do. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteSusie, it is hot here and going to be even hotter next week. I am wishing for some of the rains we had earlier, but very thankful that we had them. I can see the lake is already going down, so had we not had all that rain, mew would have been in dire straits. Have a blessed week your pics are pretty, especially the one with the patch of blue.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nonnie. I am glad you had some needed rain when you did. We here have had too much. Too much water standing and creeks over flowing. Blessings for a much cooler week coming...we have to hope. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteOh, your shots are so pretty. Love cloud pictures! Happy birthday to Ted! Hey, that's a great new toy...whoops I mean toy! Lol Tom has one we got years ago...no motor on his...lol Hope you have some lower limbs left...ha! Ha! Weather has been so strange this year...almost everywhere.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed your day.
Blessings,
Gert
We are having an afternoon of thunderstorms here! Then, the sun is hot and bright in between the storms!
ReplyDeleteIt's been raining there the past few days? That's so strange when you're getting such hot weather. But the rain is good, and so glad to hear you are getting it. I was looking at the lawns when I was driving through the older neighborhoods one day, and they are all dry and only bits of green. I do hope it rains this year, Susie.
ReplyDelete~Sheri
It is sooo hot here..near 100 today but a breeze blowing helped. Yes, we are taking it easy thru this hot part of the summer.
ReplyDeleteI know some places have received too much rain and other, like Calif., so so dry.
Once again I love the pictures. All that open space. I also love seeing where people live. More please!
ReplyDeleteWe seem to be in a 2 wonderful days, two hot and humid days and two rainy days. Ya never know.
Susie, it has certainly been a crazy year! We had absolutely no snow this Winter then tons of rain in the Spring. Record high temps in June and now just nice 80's in July. Hope summer finds you soon!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
