Flying Pig.....

When my sister and I walked  a week ago, we saw this. It sits on an odd place of the chimney.It's a pink pig statue with wings. I wish my zoom was stronger. This is a beautiful home. I just thought what a quirky little statue.:):) Fun stuff I guess. Have a good day. xo

Courthouse In Tipton....

Here is a shot of the courthouse. I was standing in front of our library. I love that old courthouse. The city big-wigs are saying it needs some roof repair. I thought that was done not so many years ago....the roof is slate. I know the clock tower got new clock faces about 2 years ago. Up keep is very important and costly.  Hope everyone has a beautiful day. xo

Second Test...

Oh my ...I think I just found a way to blog...still iffy, but hey it's a start. I truly wish I love reading instruction manuals..but I hate them. And that is my dilemma. So tomorrow I will try again. I used to just envy people who wore pretty shoes, now it's geeks with total knowledge of computers.:):)

This Is A Trial Run....

I think I found my pictures...I have click and gone to places I do not remember , Yikes!!! I found my photos files....but wonder how I did it. I have been on and off this computer all day. Called my Angie, but she was not home. I am beginning to think I must be stubborn...just didn't want to give up.

Can This Be True????

Here I am on Google Chrome.....I am able to write a post...but I can not find my picture files...where are they, good grief. I want to thank all my blog pals who offered help and advise, Thank You !!! Enjoy your weekend. I will get my daughter over here to help me. :):)

Poor Baby....

Here a baby killdeer. I don't know if he was trying to learn to fly or if he was here by some accident. He's So cute though. His parents were flying around calling to him.  I sure hope he got away from here before the nosey neighbor cats came .  My Teddy  says killdeers build their nests in the fields, not trees. So this  fellow came a ways for such a little guy. We love our birds , and go thru a lot of seeds.We finally got some gold finches this past week.I have our hummingbird feeders ready to put out . Can't wait to see them.
     People , I just read where the mild winter has make it an earlier season for ticks, please take precautions.  I want all of you to be extra careful while outside. I sound just like your moms, don't I? :):)

This Is A Crazy Spring....

We had warmer temperatures last month than we are having now.  We have had a freeze and some frost in April so far.  This birdhouse hangs in the catalpa tree, I think the frost has gotten to the leaves. This section of the tree has curled up leaves. I do know this tree blooms later....I am hoping it makes it. Good wishes for all of you to have a great day.

Projects......

Here is the bench Ted Bear made from a really rough plank. He was going to just burn it, but I beg for a bench . Boy I am so good at that:):) I told him I wanted it to have 3 legs for strenghth. Bonus!! He added  two shelves. The second photo is a strawberry pot for my sister Jeanie. I hope those berries make it. They  had a bit of frost bite. I will be putting it away this evening, frost warning for tomorrow morning. brrr. Enjoy the rest of this pretty day. xoxo.

Today Is The Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure.....

My daughter Liz, getting a chemo treatment,wearing a la-la-loopsey wig, and then with me, after I curled her hair. Liz is walking with her sister Angie and her  daughter Lynzie, today, raising money for breast cancer. She had a tough year, but is doing very well. She is more like herself now. Last Friday her mammogram was clear....that helps us breathe. Praying for all  who are going through breast cancer.

Long Walk....

Two of my sisters and I , took a long walk yesterday.  We walked to the post office, the library and then the park. The top photo is the entrance to the park. There is a walk path around the park, two times around is a mile. The second photo is a squirrel, sitting on a bench . That bench is in honor of my brother and his wife. There is a lot of work going on in the park , new play ground equipment , mulch, and tree trimming. We were too wore out from our walk to play after we got there. LOL.  Yikes, my ankles were hurting once I got back home. Today will be chores in the house and letter writing this afternoon on the porch....unless it rains. Ladies, do you have maid service? or are you the household maid??

Classmates At Breakfast.....

Here's a couple of bad photos from our classmate breakfast...just some of the ladies. Toni brings her granddaughter. She is so well behaved and sweet.  The cutest face and blond curls. We always have some good laughs. But one of the ladies pointed out that 18 from our class have passed on. Gee, that's a downer. So I remind them," let's enjoy our lifes while we can." We have been trying to have a get together once a month. I hope that all of you can find times for being with friends. We love our families , but we also need friends.

Sunday Painting...

Emma has her crafting attire on, big t-shirt:):) Here's some things she painted on Sunday afternoon. She said she needed a sign for her treehouse. She used Saturday's tuna fish can from lunch,for a food dish for her guinea pig.(Vinnie van Gogh) Emma is in love with the aqua colored paint.She finished up a paint by number she started on Saturday. Plus those flat wooden items from hobby-lobby. They have small markers with them. We had a very fun time, but I am wore out. LOL  She also made a hop scotch that numbered to 150 in the driveway.:):) Seriously 150 squares, she wanted to hop scotch to the next county.:):)

The Attraction Of Crafting......

Here's Emma in a big t-shirt crafting. She just finished a pencil holder that has a magnet on the back , so you can have a pencil on the fridge. In the second photo, I bought this message board for her,it only had one magnet. So we cut up an advertising magnet and glued some cut out felt flowers on the pieces. Well yes, she wanted Nana to make an Eiffel Tower for her. We may paint a bit today.:):)

Emma Will Be Here....

We are picking Emma up after school. Her parents are taking a weekend for themselves...So I get to keep Emma till Sunday. You know we will be doing crafts.:):) I just hope I can remember where I put somethings I have in mind to make a new kind of book mark. I may even get out my watercolors and teach her to make a painting. Hope all of you enjoy your weekend.

My Sister Is Retiring....

My sister Jeanie, is retiring from the Catholic Home. They have down sized. Luckily Jeanie was retirement age, so she won't have to look for another job. She's friends with the retired nuns, so we will go back to visit with them. This was where young girls would go to school to study about joining a convent. It has some beautiful grounds. I am hoping it isn't sold off to developers. What a shame that would be. Jeanie has one more day to work, this Saturday. I pray Jeanie can enjoy her retirement.:):)

Japanese Maple....

So happy this draft Japanese maple is growing. It was looking bad at the beginning of spring..It looked as if each branch had died back about 2-3 inches at the ends. But now it is looking good again. I love having plants of different colors in the landscape.  I have coralbells and plum bushes in this burgundy color. When you have no flowers....these mixtures help the flowerbeds look nice. We are having some chilly weather these past few days. Hope you are enjoying  your spring. :)

This Is Cute Fabric.....

Here is the fabric for my granddaughter  Emma's throw pillows. I made these from  left over fabric. I bought it to make table napkins. I plan on making a table cloth from some material that is black with white polka dots. I'll use it at one of my Sister Day Luncheons. Emma is planning on her new room decor  being Parisian themed.

Getting My Paint Brush Out....

Looks like the bell and post need a coat of color. I put out a new small garden flag. I love the rooster on it. I can hear the neighbor's rooster. He's a quarter of a mile away. I would love to have some chickens.....but the neighbor next door has 10 cats.  The family down the road has a lot of cats also.I have not counted all of them, but one day there was a cat sitting on each section of the porch banister, that would be 6. I have one spoiled house cat. She has cat-a-tude plus. :):)  She would be harmless to anything outside.

Easter Moon...

Hasn't the moon been so big these past few mornings? Love it. Here's a couple things I painted to give new spring life too. A little angelic couple, painted it copper. Then the angel on the concrete pot and some rocks in the pot.:):) Hey, I'll paint to add some color. Now I am waiting for the treat of frost to be gone .Then I can put something in this pot. This pot is a gift I gave my mom one mother's day. Then every year I would bring plants for it. My mom loved spring more than any season.
   I went to see my twin daughters and their families today. Forgot my camera :(:(  But I did get a lot of hugs .Hope all of you had a nice day. :)

Well This Juniper Needed A Trim......

Oh my gosh take my clippers away. I tied a string at the top and wrapped it around the juniper, then proceeded to trim it. This is not the pretty side. As a matter of fact, there is no pretty side.:(:( I hope it grows out a bit, yikes. I will just snip here and there next time.:):) Happy Easter to all. xo.

He was our favorite photographer.....

A beautiful man named Russ had his photography studio in the house. He has passed on. He died way too young. I think of how kind he was, a gentleman. He would do senior class photos for many years. When I first noticed him , I would see his photography at the state fair. Our family has had many a photo taken in his studio. Also outdoor settings.  I drive by his old studio everytime I go to my sister's house. Love this little weeping cherry tree. Think of some one you admire today. Maybe let them know.:):):)

Kemp United Methodist Church...

Isn't this tree pretty. That is exactly what I wanted to take a picture of as we drove by the church. But then when I saw the picture, it made me think of the church. Kemp Methodist plays the bells at noon and again at
five o'clock. I love hearing them. It's gives me a  peaceful feeling.

Crafting.....

Here's Emma Pooh doing crafts while she was here this past weekend. She's painting one of those International coffee boxes. She's making a birdhouse out of it. Plus she absolutely wanted to make more toilet paper roll bunnies. This time she cut the rolls in half ,then stood them upright. She says she is going to decorate her birthday party table with them....since her b-day is around Easter. She's our baby granddaughter and she will be 8 years old. Where did the years go??? Do any of you wonder ?Hug your little ones everybody.:):)
