Brunch & Weather....

I was the first to arrive for our monthly brunch with classmates. The waitress had our table all set and brought me water and coffee as soon as I sat down. :):)
This is what it looked like when I was coming home. My pictures are out of order. LOL This is called a shelf cloud. I think my grandson, Korey,  with his meteorology degree would be proud of me.  This did bring lots of rain, some lightening and winds. It went through here without damage.
This is an old picture of one of our gatherings. I look like one of the tall ones, actually I am not so tall, 5'4"... There were twelve of us there today. So interesting , listening to tales of their  lives and extended families. We are happy to be walking and able to enjoy each others' company. Some  are in better shape than others. We count our blessings.
Hope you are having better weather, maybe some sunshine.  This nasty weather keeps the bugs around the doors, and I hate when one comes in the house. :(  I am an O.C.D. fly smacker. :):)  ewee.

  1. Hope your aim is 100%. I hate flies buzzing around food, especially. We have very few flies this year due to the fact that we have no cattle and there's also no cattle on the farm across the street. Makes a huge difference! Nice get-together with classmates. Bet that was fun! Also glad you avoided any damaging weather.

    1. Judy, If I whack a fly or bug , I wipe that thing up and wash the window with vinegar. LOL. I just hate having bugs or flying things in my house. I just remember them being in our house all the time growing up...but with 11 kids running in and out, it just happened. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  7. Just last night my friend Dave and I were talking about the old gang. A few are scattered around the country, a couple no longer with us. We thought about a possible gathering of all those that could. Boy the years fly by.

    1. Paul, Please get with your friend Dave and work out something to bring your old pals together....life is short and it does get away from us. When we were all young and full of promise, I know none of us ever thought of growing old. Some times our talks are of aches and pains. LOL. I told the girls , we all walk in here and we are up-right, so we are doing well. LOL. Take care, xoxo,Susie

  10. How much fun is THAT??? You are so blessed to have so many friends!!!
Do you have those bug nasty water bugs? We do and I HATE them!!! They look like a giant ROACH!!! I keep a jug of bug spray that Louis Dean mixes up inside the house - and hopefully where I can remember putting it - at all times! One landed on the art table last Tuesday and freaked us all out! I saved the day by smashing it with a wad of paper towels!

  15. Susie, It is so nice that you and your classmates get together. I am in the midst of planning our 45th reunion for Sept. (Hence why I am a little overwhelmed, and not on the blog quite as much.) Your shelf clouds look ominous! I am glad to hear the storm passed without damage. We have been in a heat wave. A little water from above would be welcome right now.
    Have a great day!

    1. Hi Lynne, You will enjoy your time withal your classmates. I said a prayer this morning for God to take the rain where it is needed the most. I am scared for California's water supply. I think the west coast could really use some of this excess of rain we have been having. Is there a theme for the reunion? Bless you, xoxo,Susie

  17. I love the fact that you get together with your classmates once a month. I sure wish our classmates did that. I still see many of them once in awhile around town, and it's so nice when we catch up.

I've never heard of a shelf cloud, Susie. Your clouds look like rain will be coming soon. How interesting that your grandson is into meteorology. You can ask him questions about the weather any time. How cool is that?

    1. Sheri, Maybe one day you could get a few of your classmates together...for lunch or pizza. A shelf cloud is the leading edge of a thunderstorm. Yes, my g.son has his meteorology degree, then got his degree in GIS...global Imaging ..that goes along with meteorology in helping map out weather. He has always been fascinated by the weather. Hope you get rain there soon. We are having so much this year...it's become a bother. Blessings, Love, Susie
