Crop Dusting.....

It isn't always quiet in the country.  Yesterday I could hear an added noise to the Ac sound. I get my camera and go outside. Here comes the yellow plane that dusts the crops in this area.
He is doing the corner field. So I can get a few shots once he makes his turn.
He is headed back north, the corner field is a long one .
He has completed his turn and starting the dive.
Now he is over the neighbor's house. this is really close when they go over our homes here.  But I love watching them. I would love to fly along. My husband thinks I am nuts...I am about flying.
While out I go to the ditch across the road....last farmer in the county to mow his ditches owns it.  There's some tall queen Anne's lace there.
In the very center of a lace doily, you can see the drop of blood from where queen Anne pricked her finger while making the lace. :):) I think that is interesting.
Going to Zumba Silver this morning. So I better get out of here. Ted will be in charge of the house. LOL. Unless he has to come mop me up from the gym floor. LOL. Wishing all a great day, the sun is shining  here. XO

  3. I love Queen Anne's lace, but I have never heard that story. I'm so glad that I came visiting today:) I agree at how much fun it is to watch the crop dusters, but I'm like your husband, I think your nuts to want to fly with one. They are true dare devils. I'm having a Give-A-Way, come put your name in the hat.

  4. Not crazy about flying here - nor about crop dusting! Whatever it is they are using really spreads through the atmosphere! We are "no pesticide" people here, and always shop for organic at the super market! xo Nellie

    1. Nellie, They are dusting corn here. I think all the farmers do it, unless they treat with a machine. It worries me to what all is put in our ground, water and air.I think if crops were spread out more, they would not have so many things that needed treatment of pesticides or fungicides. I call it the-" I want one more bushel syndrome." Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  6. OK I'm going to share with you something that's been on my bucket list. As a young girl in the Central Valley of CA we saw crop dusters often, and I always wanted to be a pilot in a crop duster...well, I grew out of that dream...but would love to be the passenger in one if there was room. 10. Crop dusting is pretty foreign around here, but there is plenty of air traffic. The main airport is only 6 or so miles away and air traffic over our neighborhood starts around 8:30 p.m. to about12:30 to 1 in morning. Not every night but many. These Jets fly low because they have just taken off a few miles away. It seems the take off and landing patterns change with the seasons and more likely with the weather.
Kudos to you for using the proper settings on your camera. The background is blurred out but the subject is perfectly clear. I'm itching to get out and take some picture, but of what?

    1. Boston Boy, You take so many pictures and know your camera inside and out...just as my grandson does. I set mine on automatic...it adjust itself. :) I would love to have some classes...but for some reason I seem dense trying to gleam info from this pitiful booklet that came with this camera. Plus I need that telescopic lens...the good one.. I see vaper trails all the time as anything flying out of Indy going north and northeast comes over head...but they are way up there by traveling 50 miles from Indy. I just admire the crop dusters' talent for flying like they do. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  11. I so love the lace flowers, they look like beautiful snowflakes, so pretty! We get bi-planes flying by around here, no crops that close to my home, but I see them when I go to my brothers place, so fun to watch! Enjoy the upcoming weekend! Blessings, Cindy

    1. Gert, I was wore out from an hour of zumba...but I need that exercise. I love watching the pilots fly those planes. I have always love flying, it is more exciting in a small plane. I took some flying lessons before...but the airport where the plane was ..was so small and there were high power line that you have to fly over. I always thought they were too close. So I never finished with my lessons...but I loved it. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
