Saturday Happenings....

Happenings, may be misleading  LOL... I did get out in the heat for a bit. This is one of the flower containers in town. They are doing so well and they are all over our town, now even on the outskirts.
I went to my sisters' apartment and Jeanie, Brenda and I walked , round trip two blocks. No great distance...but the heat was heavy. We walked to this rummage sale , given by the high school girl's soccer team. Such young strong pretty girls.  They had some shade.  That is good.
I bought this puzzle and picture from the girls. Then we walked catty corner to another sale. I got this little ceramic boat house.
The  house says Land's End Boat House on front...underneath is says Dickens Collectables 1997.
This picture is a bear sitting on a park bench and it says Blessings...I like to count my blessings so I bought it for fifty cents.
This was a new puzzle , it is a painting by Eric Dowdle. Now talk about strange...I saw the tail end of a show on one of the PBS channels after I got home. It was Eric Dowdle painting Charleston, S.C. ...I have never heard of this artist before and now here I was watching the ending of a show with him. I thought wow that painting looks like the puzzle some what and I remembered the name Eric..so I look at the puzzle as the credits are rolling and there it all was before me..You can order puzzles of the cities Eric Dowdle paints. Glad I went to town and to my sisters and that we hit the little sales in the heat of the day.:):)
Yesterday was pretty, but it was hot and the heat index was 105...that is stuffy air. I caught the sun as it was on the horizon...ending a good day, that I am thankful for, so I count my blessings. Hope all of you had a good day and I wish you a peaceful Sunday. XO

  2. Hi Susie, I love your post today. The pots of flowers are so pretty around your town. Glad you and your sisters enjoyed the walk/sales. I just googled the little boat house you purchased. Amazon sales it for $44 + shipping - what a great find. I was not familiar with the artist of your puzzle but enjoyed looking just now - he actually has a blog I discovered. Thanks so much for sharing your items as it gave me something new to learn about! That's a cute painting too and a reminder that blessings are all around! xoxo

  4. Too hot for me too, Susie! Love that pot of flowers and lucky you to have them all over your town!
Well spotted that you recognized the artist from the puzzle! I have not seen anything on PBS about that artist, but it might not have been shown yet in Georgia, I will look out for it! xx

The Painting on the show was Charleston, my daughter and I have talked about going back there for another vacation. the puzzles are make in Utah and my daughter's son is living in Salt Lake City, Utah. Then seeing the name and remembering the artist...well I amazed myself. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  6. You're brave! We have the heat and humidity now and heat index today is supposed to be 104 or 105. It's so oppressive! You did find some interesting treasures...are you going to work on the puzzle alone? :)

We are truly blessed aren't we? Hoping you have a wonderful, cool and peaceful Sunday!

    1. Pat, I do not like heavy heat...I was ready for a cool drink when we got back to my sister's apartment. A nice icy Sprite hit the spot. I thought if our winter is as wet as this spring/summer, I'll need this 1000 piece puzzle to keep myself entertained. LOL. Hope your weekend was a good one. I truly enjoyed mine. Bless you, xoxo,Susie

  9. Such a beautiful capture of the sunset Susie! I love puzzles and sure wish we were neighbors so we could get together and do some. How I would love that. Sometimes I get quite lonely being home all day and wish for a little more company, and putting a puzzle together with a friend would sure cure that. I so appreciate you sending a hug to Landon...it means so much. Aren't rummage sales the best? You never know what you will find :))
    sending hugs...

  10. I love to hear about the happenings going on, Susie, even if it's just going to a rummage sale on a Sunday. I saw garage sales all over today, isn't that funny? It was so hot that I didn't stop at any of them. I did go to my favorite candy shop, Sees, and talked with a girlfriend that used to live up the street from me when we were growing up. I really like her, and we often talk about the good 'ole days. I like your "blessings" picture. Yes, we have so many blessings. And that sunset is so beautiful. I was going to put one of your sunsets on my friendship post, but instead that cart with the purple flowers caught my eye.

Have a great week ahead, Susie.

    love, ~Sheri

  13. It didn't officially hit 90 at the airport, it was 89 so it was not an official heat wave. Who lives at the airport? It was 90 where I was in Cambridge.
All the items you got are quite nice but where do you put it all?

    1. B.B. I laugh about who lives at the airport...really I have never understood why they tell the temps there. I will hang that picture, put the puzzle in the closet , till winter. then The little boathouse can be by our pond. outside. I have to don bring home more than I can hide. LOL. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
