I bought this metal art piece years ago , at a junk shop. It had a bit of paint on it then. We have it hanging on the shop/garage wall, above our garden pond. It is really rusty now, we like it that way. It reminds me of the mill near one of the covered bridges in Park County. We used to go to the covered bridge festival there.
With summer going so fast, I have been thinking of the festivals coming up. I usually go to the Earth Day festival in Atlanta, Indiana. This is one small town that is filled to over flowing on the weekend of the festival. We have a pork festival here in our town . It's the weekend after Labor day. Do any of you attend festivals near your home???
Wishing everyone a great day. XO
I love your rusty mill!
ReplyDeleteHi Japolina, I am happy you are home and well rested . Thinking of you and your family, xoxo,Susie
DeleteSounds like there are a lot of festivals for you to consider. We do have a few around here, the Aquafest on one of the lakes, the Rutabaga Festival (which I'm not sure is held anymore), but I like to visit those places on less crowded days. :-)
ReplyDeleteI like to check our different fests. I went last year with my daughter to one at the Amish Acres, in northern Indiana. Ted and I like to go the Earth Day fest on Sunday morning very early, in time for a cinnamon roll and coffee.:) xoxo,Susie
DeleteI love it and it just gets better with age. And yes, I love festivals! I need to check and see what's coming up here in NC! Enjoy your day! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it seem that some festival go along with the area's produce? There a blueberry fest up north and it's always at a very hot time...or so it seems. Hope you are having a great time. xoxo,Susie
DeleteI love your art piece.. I have one that reminds me of yours. They are pretty. We're having rain today.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Gert
Gert, we had the thickest fog this morning...makes me scared for people who have to be out on the roads. You'll have to post on your piece of art. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteOMGosh! as I saw the picture I thought "reminds me of the mill at Bridgeton" So yes it does look like that!
ReplyDeleteAnn, That is funny. So you know about mills. xoxo,Susie
DeleteOur festivals are in the spring here. There is a Dogwood Arts Festival and the National Biscuit Festival. Further south, there is a National Cornbread Festival. Seems food is involved in most of them.:-) xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteNellie, I absolutely love art fest. the best. I could see you making biscuits...and winning.:) I bet that cornbread one would be fun...just seeing all the different way people make it. Hope you are enjoying your day. xoxo,Susie
DeleteThat's a great art piece and I love the rust. It gives it character. I haven't been to any festivals in my area in a long time so I'm very overdue... :)
ReplyDeleteHi Dee D, thank you for stopping by. If you go to any festivals, please post photos...we all love to see what's going on.LOL. We also know there's good eats at all of them. Hope you are having a great day, xoxo,Susie

DeleteLove the art piece, the rust only makes it better!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Patti
Hi Patti, Thanks for coming by. That rusty piece is going to stay rusty...just hope it doesn't fall apart. LOL. I may have to seal it with something. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteHi Susie, This is a great art piece.
ReplyDeleteThere are several fall festivals in the north GA mountains that we enjoy. A favorite is in Elijay GA - the apple capital of GA!!!
hey, what are you saying...I think peaches when I think Georgia.LOL. Now you are telling me there's an apple fest. So funny. But that like around here...There is a blueberry fest up north and I sure do not think of blueberry when I think of Indiana. I think corn, beans and pork. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI don't usually like rust on things, but on your piece of art it gives it such whimsy and character. I really like it.
ReplyDeleteWe have tons of festivals around here and if I went to every one that would be all I'd do! LOL. Have fun no matter which one you choose.
Ya know I know we have festivals. There was a small art festival in my home town not too long ago and I'm sure there are others in the surrounding area. I have not been to one though.
ReplyDeleteI must say I really like the metal mill. It has lots of character. I have no place to display such an item yet I might have bought it if I happened upon it. Nice find.
Thanks for your kind words. I hope to be back blogging on a more regular basis next week after my sister gets home.
