This is the front of our pool building. The containers are doing so well. My sister says the pool has closed since school already started.
The blocks are up as if they may have a swim meet. But so are the baskets for playing ball.
I want to tell about my daughters. One year , all four of my girls worked the pool. Angie was a lifeguard, Kathy worked the admissions ticket window, Lizzy worked the concession's window selling refreshments, and Karen worked the basket window where swimmers' street clothes and shoes were stored. It was a good year for all of us. I enjoyed going by the pool and seeing my girls working there. I think they all had fun that year. I sure hope they did.
Wishing you a good day. The sun is shining here once again. XO
School has started here, too, though I think the pools are open until Labor Day. The flowers are beautiful! xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteI am hoping my sis is wrong about the seasonal closing of the pool...hope it's just because school has started and maybe they will open of an evening or on weekends. At least till Labor Day. I need to know what they used on those plants. LOL. xoxo,Susie
DeleteHow cool to have had all of your girls working at the same place. Yes, there are good memories of our kids growing up too. So sad to see the pool all closed up.
ReplyDeletePatty, It's just closed for the season...but it is still sad to think all the fun, laughter and squeals are gone till next Summer. xoxo,Susie
DeleteWhat perfect summer jobs for teenage girls! I bet they have a lot of fun memories.
ReplyDeleteCarol, That was the best summer jobs for young girls. They have all told some funny stories. One was of the bees around the concession window. xoxo,Susie
DeleteI took my children to the pool when they were children. It closed a few years later. We loved it!
ReplyDeleteI took my girls to the pool when they were small for swim lessons , given by the red cross...25 cents a lesson.wow. Then when they were old they went there many times in their young lives to swim with friends. But that summer when they were in high school and worked there was a good time. xoxo,Susie
DeleteSusie,
ReplyDeleteThat is so wonderful that your four daughters all got jobs at the swimming pool one year. I remember having swimming lessons when I was little. It was a lot of work, but I got to be a good swimmer.
love,
~Sheri
Sheri, My girls had lessons too when they were very young. It paid off they all loved the pool and still love swimming. They have lots of memories of their summer working there together. Angie actually life guarded a few years. Hope you are having summer fun. xoxo,Susie
DeleteMom, I worked the concession stand and Liz worked the ticket window. Can't forget because of all the times I came home with cotton candy in my hair. No wonder all the boys thought I was so sweet!
ReplyDeleteLOL..did the bees like you too? Kathy, Who was manager then.? Oh guess what...there was a huge sink hole in the parking lot near the fence. It's been fixed. All I can say is ..it was a good thing Karen did not work concession...you know how she loves cotton candy. :):) Love you sweet girl, Mommy
DeleteFun memories of your girls working at the pool. I remember visiting the pool during summer. They had a candy bar called Milkshake that they kept refrigerated that was so delicious!
ReplyDeleteOh hat sounds tasty for a summer day. It would be fun to swim again and eat chocolate.LOL. xoxo,Susie
DeleteWhat a great summer with all four working together. I'd love a community pool in the neighborhood. One of my dreams!
ReplyDeleteCarol, That was one of our best years, when the girls had that summertime job. They had fun and made money to help with their school clothes. All my daughters are hard workers too. I think it helps when young people work for something. At least it can make for good work ethics. Too bad there's not some place to swim near you. Like a gym, or even apartment complex.xoxo,Susie
DeleteIt's kind of sad when the pool closes, because that usually means the end of summer.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you probably had a lot of fun memories when you girls worked at the pool.
Mary Alice
That was my first thought too...that summer seemed officially over. Sad. My daughters and I have many wonderful memories. There were plenty of sad times, but we try not to dwell on those. xoxo,Susie
Deleteoh how fun Susie..3 girls working at the same fun summer job place);)

Our pools always close when school starts. I don't go anymore but they were some good times. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteWow that seems like an early start! Every time it' hits time school time I still get a little sinking feeling in my stomach, aw summers almost over.
