Saturday I walked past the farmers' market , on my way to the library.
I did not go into the area, but I could see it was mostly corn . The bakers were at their normal spot on the corner. They make breads, rolls, pies, and carmel corn.
Here's the library.... don't you love that smell. New and old books. I asked about some watercolor classes, that were being offered. So this afternoon will be my first class. The classes are the 1st Thursday of every month. I thought it would be a way for me to get back to painting. I'll show all of you what I paint. :):)
This morning is a calm one, with few clouds. May have rain starting this evening. Enjoy your day. XO
I love the smell of books, too! I know you will enjoy the art class today.ReplyDelete
I have been wanting to paint again and I thought this would get me started. I'll show what ever I paint. xoxo,SusieDelete
What a cool thing for your library to offer. Yes, it's not just books anymore.ReplyDelete
I love the smell of books too. Sometimes when I get a shipment of new books at work I just have to stop and smell them.
Have a great day, Susie!
Kathy, Oh I should have remembered, you are a librarian. You get to smell books all the time. Does your library have book sales?? Ours has some shelves in the lobbies with a box for money and you pay for any books, paperback novels, and tapes. It's kind of a nice way to have a book for 50 cents. The hard covers and tapes are a dollar. The paperbacks are some times a dime. Great deals. xoxo,SusieDelete
I do love the smell of books, I am so happy you'll be painting again, you can join Paint Party Friday!!!ReplyDelete
Laurie, I'll post pictures of anything I paint. :):) But I just need this to get me started again. My get up and go has got up and went., if you know what I mean. xoxo,SusieDelete
oh good for you taking the watercolor class! i love painting and have not done anything in years now. like beading. i have all the supplies. in the closet! haReplyDelete
Bee, We have good intentions, don't we? I loved doing watercolors, then when we moved here, I kind of stopped. I am hoping this will get me going again. xoxo,SusieDelete
I love libraries and the extra things they offer, especially for the kids. I haven't been to a market this year, have enough here at home, but I would sure love some corn. Paint a picture for your blog!Delete
Hi Peggy, I have been thinking of you, wondering how you are. If I could I get some corn for you. I do not eat much corn, I used to...just more careful about some of my foods. I will post anything I may paint. LOL. xoxo,SusieDelete
That sounds fun! We have a new library just down the road from my house. And can you believe I haven't even been in there yet? I hope you'll share some of your watercolor paintings when you're finished.ReplyDelete
Kelly, You may be surprised when you visit your library now....they have so many things to offer. Oh yes, I will post anything I paint...if for nothing but good laughs. xoxo,SusieDelete
Libraries are such fun. They opened a small branch in our local mall and is doing great.ReplyDelete
Hi Munir, Funny where a library can fit...but I truly believe in them. There;s so much more in them these days. xoxo,SusieDelete
What a great idea to start taking watercolor classes! I'll look forward to your paintings.ReplyDelete
We all will have some good laughs seeing my painting. But I truly needed to get back to something I like and wanted to do upon retiring. xoxo,SusieDelete
The painting classes will be so much fun and you are so talented! I love libraries. We got here over the weekend and I went to the library Monday morning! heehee! Enjoy your day! Hugs!ReplyDelete
That is so good you went to the library already. Thanks for the talent statement...we'll see. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
How exciting to begin something new! I would have been very tempted to go into the Farmer's Market area, though. Love that fresh corn, and we didn't plant any this season. xo NellieReplyDelete
Oh this Indiana sweet corn is a wonderful food....I just don't eat much corn. I like it fired too. LOL. Nellie, I'll be sure to show my painting. xoxo,SusieDelete
I didn't know that you painted. I can't wait to see what you paint. Our library has a great children's section. And the library is free, even better, right.ReplyDelete
Hi Debby, Our library for checking out books, dvd, tapes and such is free....but there's late fees if not returned on the due dates. The priced items are donated or out dated books, they are in the lobby for anyone to buy. I painted till I moved here...then I slowly stopped. I want to get back to painting to do something that I really like. I needed more lessons, as I was pretty much self taught. xoxo,SusieDelete
Kathy, I already have my painting...I will show it tomorrow on my blog. There were two kids in the class and 4 ladies. LOL The teacher gave us a picture of something to paint. Thanks for your encouragement. Love you sweetheart, MommyDelete
My dad painted in oils. I have 6 hanging in my home. I used to cartoon a bit but I have never painted. I don't think I could ever do it.ReplyDelete
You must show us samples of your work in the future.
Boston Boy, You should try painting ...I bet you would be good at it. You must be artistic, cause you play music too. That is special that you have some art work from your dad. There were many talented people in my family but I have nothing of theirs. My daughters are very good at making crafts and Kathy does sewing very well. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
I love the smell of books too. Brings back great memories. I hope you will show us your beautiful works of art when completed. Have a wonderful week end.ReplyDelete
Hi Kris, I will show my painting tomorrow. I think it will be good for a laugh or maybe someone can give me some pointers. I have seen may good things from the blog family we all belong to. xoxo,SusieDelete
Oh I love the library. I could live there LOL I hope all is well with you. Thought I better check in to let you know I'm still kicking. Hugs, xoReplyDelete
Hi Susie, So glad you still kicking.:):) I know some people who do go to the library everyday. Some for the computers. Movies . It's a great place to study. Blessings , xoxo,SusieDelete
