Our View....

This is the view from our porch right now. Mostly cloudy skies. Growing corn.  A phone tower. We have a vast view here...lots of sky. Everything looks so green. The corn and soybeans are doing fine , in these parts. I have caught sight of a few wheat fields.   It's the best of times for the farmers. So thankful for this great country. There is plenty wrong with the U.S. , but I only want to live here. Oh yes, I would like to visit other places, like Paris, Rome, and all of Ireland...but only live here. Many times growing up, I could have moved away from my home town. I stayed and I do not regret it. I know as I age , I may not want to deal with snow. Until then I'll stay in the town that I love , that's in the country that I love. Hope all of you are being thankful for something in your life.xo

  1. I've stayed too, with a brief hiatus, and don't regret it a bit. I love it here. Glad to hear you do too.

  2. What a beautiful view you have, from your porch. you could almost do a blog, only with daily pics, from your porch. Like at daybreak, or at sunset or something. :-)

Same here... This is my Beloved Country. We have spent a week in Paris and it was fantastic. But I was ready to come home, when the week was up.

We have tried spending the snow/ice months in FL. I didn't like it.

I'm here to tell you, that even at 76 and nearly 80, we stay right *where we were planted.* :-))))

    P.S. Are you ALLLLLLLLL better???

  3. Oh Susie, what a great post! Very well said! I feel the same way...I'm so thankful to have been born and raised in this country, and to live here!

Have a blessed, safe and fun weekend!

  4. I love the USA too and I feel so fortunate to live here.

  5. Great post! I picked to live here in this little town when I was 21. I was raised in the northern part of Ohio. I like having four seasons and things changing. I wouldn't want to be further north where its colder or further south where its hotter. I love black dirt, corn fields and tractors right next to my Burger King!

  6. There's only 152 miles between us! We are about even with Indy an you are about even with Rantoul. LOL

  7. Your view is a pretty one, Susie. We have mountains around here.:-) Rain again last night, then also earlier in the afternoon today. Enjoy your Tuesday! xo Nellie

  8. I think we all experience a little wanderlust, but it's always good to know our home is here, in this great country! I love your view, so peaceful!

  9. How wonderful that you have lived there your whole life, Susie. We have moved so many times over the years-cross country three times. In my area where I was born and raised, people grew up there and made their lives there-that was the way of things. I kind of like that idea. Your homespot is beautiful- xo Diana

  10. I feel the same way about where we live. My daughter and I have had this conversation a lot in the past 4 weeks that we have spent together. How she loves Colorado and I love Ohio. Good for you.

  11. I too love the idea of growing up and staying in the same town and being with lifetime friends. But that has not happened for me. And that is all right, too. I have visited several other countries, but Texas is the place for me. Right here in the USA.
We have much to be thankful for.
