I Can't Promise...

Look I think the courthouse forgot to fall back on their time. The sky was so pretty I could not resist a photo of the big white clouds too. Hope your Sunday was this nice.
I am clinging to this time of year...oh I know what's around the corner, and I am dreading it.
I can't promise to not show more autumn colors. I have just been loving all the beauty of our fall.
It seemed that we would not have any color this year...then all of a sudden , here is the beauty .
Ted and I raked our lawn in front, that goes in the burn pile...hickory nuts and pine needles. But Ted just mowed and mulched the back yard. Today you can not tell it was ever done. At least the front yard is still clean. We did sit out on the porch yesterday and talked about the trees we have and the ones we'd love to have.  I do not want my views hindered by trees on the front lawn. We truly need our old hickory tree for the shade it provides. It is just  a trash tree otherwise. The leaves turn a bit yellow, but mostly brown and fall then those hickory nuts !! Too small to crack open and use...unless you are a squirrel. Okay unless you are a furry squirrel. Old people squirrels do not want to work that hard. :):)

  1. Beautiful color, Susie! I wonder what it takes to set that courthouse clock. I wouldn't want to be the one to do it.:-) Have a good Monday! xo Nellie

  3. You really have fabulous color this year. I don't think it was quite as brilliant here but we have some pretty trees. We had a huge butternut tree in our yard in the house we lived in before our condo. It has the prettiest yellow leaves and such a nice shape. Enjoy your afternoon. It's cold here today! Hugs!

  5. Susie,
Look at those trees! The trees in your town are some of the prettiest I've seen this season. They have all the pretty colors of Autumn. It's November already, and Christmas will soon be here, but I just want to savor all the special things that this season has to offer, don't you?

    Love,

  6. I never tire of those gorgeous fall colors Susie. We had a gorgeous day yesterday, but cold here today. We mowed Sat. and looked gorgeous for a day. Now splattered with more leaves. Oh well, trees are worth the extra work!
    hugs,

  9. Beautiful foliage.
I am also dreading what is ahead weather wise. I guess God will give us energy and hope to deal with it when it comes. Hang in there.

  11. We are so enjoying the changing of the leaves in our new home State!! Our yard sounds like yours. I'm sitting in the kitchen window looking out back at the leaves twirling from the sky. Do I mow/vacuum today, or not? :)
