We Got Rain....

You can see how hard it was raining here. We ended up with 2 1/2 inches of rain. Thankful for the rain we needed. Also very thankful that we didn't get more.
You can see it is starting to stand in the shop/garage  driveway. That is a low spot. The town of Hartford City, NW of here, got 11 inches of rain in a short amount of time.  Closed down  I-69 for some time.  I am so sorry for all those in that mess .
Rain is in our forecast for the next few days, that on and off  kind. Plus a possibility of 90 degree temperature. Oh boy a sauna. :):) I will not be doing much outside.
I have a  few  things to be getting done before autumn arrives. I feel that at times I will never catch up. Wishing you the best weekend. xo

  1. Please send some of that rain to Missouri, we haven't had any moisture in over a month! It is blazing hot and very dusty. Your photos are beautiful!

    1. Oh I wish that 11 inches that flooded up north could have been spread out to all the places that need rain. We honestly did need about 2 inches. Thankfully that is what our county received. I will some rain for your area. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
p.s. thanks so much for visiting:):)

  2. I'm playing catch up for sure, I hope you don't have flooding with all the rain in the forecast! That wooly worm is so cute, and the corn does look like fall, take care in that humidity but just think how lovely the humidity is for our skin,

    1. Laurie, I would have to live in the rain forest for my skin to be good. LOL ... I was thinking of painting a little watercolor of that worm. . Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  3. I wish two inches had fallen here and the other four inches went to California, or Missouri. Everything is a real mess here with all the basement flooding. I was lucky, to be among the few it missed.

    1. Peggy, I can tell you , I am always on pins and needles worrying about too much rain, since we have a basement too. So I was very pleased when we got what we did and no more.....gives it time to soak in or run off before the next round. I just feel so sorry for anyone getting flooded out. It's so much clean up involved. Hope you are doing well Peggy. Our summertime is waning. xoxo, Susie

    1. Patty, We sure lucked out on not getting the flooding rains. We did get 2 1/2 inches which after a few hours was quickly absorbed into the ground. Blessings, Susie

  5. Oh my goodness, that is a lot of rain. You are definatately getting our weather. It has been terribly "hot" here along with rain!! However, everything is really green, looks more like spring then fall.

Hope you're having a good weekend!

    Blessings,
    Gert

    1. Gert, after tour our rain was soaked into the ground , thinsg did look greener. We needed the 2 1/2 inches we got here. Just sad for those that got almost a foot of rain over night. Let's keep cool if we can. Blessings, Susie

  7. Gentle rain is so much nicer than the torrential downpours. Glad that you received the much-needed rain.

    1. Vee, It was good here, but bad in other areas. I am so thankful we did not flood here, but my heart breaks for those having to clean up today. It just rained so hard and fast it could not even run off. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  8. No rain here but the 90's are heading our way next week. It has been too nice around here. I mean there is nothing wrong with too nice but that also means that when change comes it won't be so nice. There are tropical storms brewing in the Caribbean and living close to the coast it always makes you think hurricane. I hope not.

    1. Boston Boy, I sure hope there are no hurricanes. I just hate seeing them go up the coast. It's scary, when there's nothing you can do about it. It's raining again here in Indy (6:00 PM) We will be steaming by next week. Also, when it's like this, the fog is super thick. I have a hard time driving in fog. Take care. xoxo,Susie

  9. We all need and enjoy an occasional rainfall, just not all at once. Yep, your headed for a sauna. We're hovering at 100* right now, but that's typical for us. As long as the a/c keeps working I'm totally fine with it.

    1. We will be suffering this coming week. I do worry for people who have to work out in the heat...they need to stay hydrated. No wonder people used to take naps in summer....too hot to do much else. Stay cool girl !! xoxo,Susie

  10. Yaaaay, you got rain! I love when it rains during the summer months. It gives us a few days of cooler weather. Your home always looks so green and groomed, it amazes me. Your deck is so pretty.
