Here are my hollyhocks. I am hoping they will grow taller. I have planted them beside a guide wire and utility pole that is in the front flower bed. I am also hoping they will grow back next year. I did have some from last year, growing....they just are not real tall. Of course this very hot dry weather may have a lot to do with that. Hollyhocks make me think of simpler times , I don't know why. Please everyone take care in this extreme heat. xo
I've always loved hollyhocks. The heat is just terrible - we're hoping for rain.
ReplyDeleteI love hollyhocks, they're old fashioned and beautiful. I planted them a couple of springs here at the cottage. I should plant them again!

I love Hollyhocks! They remind me of my childhood days and making dolls out of the blossoms. Mine are real tall this year, 6 - 8 ft. but I know that sometimes when they return the 2nd year they are not as tall. Mine are a couple years old so I am happy that they got that tall. Your blooms are still very pretty. I hope you get some relief from the heat. We are having terrible problems with fires here in UT
