The birds were singing this morning. The cardinals. The robin are chirping, but I have not heard their full song yet. Maybe they only sing that when it's time to mate. It was pleasant going to the mailbox this morning.
Ahh, soon we will be able to clean out the flowerbeds for their spring flowers. I am anxious to dig in the dirt. I actually like the smell of it when planting flowers. I think I have decided upon red petunias this year. You know how we change our minds at times. I want something bright after the winter we have had. So all my containers will have red petunias, mixed with other things. I'll have to paint the twigs and sticks ....cheap way to add a bit of color in the containers.
Hope your day is filled with joy. xo
When I shopped at Walmart yesterday, there were big pots full of flowers to plant. Lots of blues and purples. Very tempting! Enjoy your day my friend!
ReplyDeleteI have not been to our Walmart for some time...I think it would be too early up here in Indiana. xoxo,Susie
Deletei remember when we lived in maryland when i would see that first robin of the year. such a feeling of freedom at last from the long winter!

We always think Spring when the robins come around. Hope your day is fun, xoxo,Susie
DeleteOh don't you LOVE the song of the cardinals! And I love hearing robins and Baltimore orioles as well. I hope the robins and orioles stay away from here for a while though. :-( unless they want to eat from my feeder - which they don't, since I'm not putting worms out there. LOL
ReplyDeleteI am hoping we get orioles this year...we have had them before. I like to sing along with the cardinals.LOL xoxo,Susie
DeleteGood morning, Susie. We have sunshine here today, and the sky is a lovely blue, though I didn't hear any birdsong this morning. I did see some robins hopping about a bit later. Do you suppose I was out before the birds awoke?:-) xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteNellie, I always think of you as an early riser. You may have gotten up before the birds. LOL, xoxo,Susie
DeleteLonging for spring too Susie!! I think red is the perfect color to banish all thoughts of this miserable winter we have suffered through.
ReplyDeleteBeth, I think we may be near the end of this winter...I may be just wishing too. LOL xo,Susie
DeleteI envy you, Susie hearing the birds singing already!
ReplyDeleteHi Susie(:)

Red petunias would be lovely. That was my mom's favorite flower.
ReplyDeleteI can just see those red petunias. I love the wave petunias. You've got me to thinking on what to put in my containers. I've heard the birds singing also and I sure hope winter is coming to a close. Hugs, xo
ReplyDeleteLove this post, Susie, about flowers and birds singing! Can't wait for spring. I love petunias in any color, but I have had a hard time keeping them alive when it gets really hot and humid. I'm not sure what the problem is, I see them in other's pots looking lush and healthy.
