Crafting & Working.....

These are the little birdhouses that I am getting ready for the church bazaar, in November. I think they look sweet enough to sell. Gee, November is this Friday.  Can you believe how fast October flew by??
Ted and I got the yard cleaned up yesterday. We hauled all the catalpa leaves to the neighbor's fields, he wanted them in the very center where is was a bit high. As for the pine needles and hickory nuts from the front lawn...they were burned in this fire pit. Ted sits on his golf cart and watches the fires so they never get out of hand. Plus we water down the grass around it and keep the hose handy. I am extra cautious with fires and I know Ted thinks I am overly so. But then I think men have caveman tendencies. They make crazy fires.  I guess I am just thankful we don't live near a forest. xo

  1. Good Morning Susie. Your birdhouses are very sweet. Your grass sure is pretty too. John had the nickname "Pyro" when he was younger and would go camping. His friends teased that his fires were way too big!

  2. Those birdhouses are just darling, Susie. I am sure they will sell quickly. What is it about men and fires? The bigger the better and even more fun if there is gasoline involved. xo Diana

  6. Cute little bird houses. I am envious that your yard is all cleaned up. Way to go. Fires scare me but a little cozy sit by fire is so nice.

  7. Your birdhouses are precious, Susie, I would definitely buy one!

Hubby nearly burned down the summerhouse one year burning garbage in our fire pit. He learned though and is now very cautious!

  8. Susie,
I can't believe how green and groomed your lawn is! You and Ted have done a great job keeping it up. I laughed on your comment because I just saw the movie Cast Away where Tom Hanks built himself a huge fire and was pleased with what he had done hahaha. Love that movie, and never get tired of it.

  11. The birdhouses are great, really pretty.
Men and fires, they always make such a production out of it. My husband would set fire to anything, given the chance. As the daughter of a former firefighter, I am very cautious!
