Good Friday....

This is the St. Johns church that was in the background of yesterday's photo.   The red house next door to it is the home of the priest. I love this old church. Very beautiful inside. Lightening struck the main tower  a few years ago and burned, just the tower, so thankful it was not worse.  The St. John's school is to the east of this church.  When I lived in town, I was only three blocks from here. So I could hear  the school bells and the church bells. On calm days, you could hear the children at recess.
Wishing all of you a blessed Good Friday. xo

  4. I have always loved the older churches! Some like the more modern ones, but they just don't have the beauty of the older ones! In our little town I grew up in, ours was this same way...just gorgeous!

    Have a blessed day!

  6. What a beautiful church. Many of the churches in our area today are in industrial parks or abandoned grocery stores. I know the building itself doesn't make a difference to God, but I do love beautiful churches.

    Happy Easter

  12. When I first moved into my home 34 years ago there were two churches that played their bells every day. Now neither of them do. I miss that.
