Time For A Trim....

I will be trimming this juniper again. I just can't help it. I feel I know the right steps...I just think this juniper doesn't want to cooperate. This photo is from last year's before....and it is looking shabby again. So I do my part and get another picture of it to post. You can see the fir tree behind, that took over the walkway, that is the one Ted cut down on Saturday.
I am yearning to go flower shopping. It may be too soon, to plant, but I could look and plan. I told Ted yesterday that we absolutely need a new planter box for the mailbox post . I know I could just put the flowers in the ground around the mailbox....but some times my lawn man (Ted) gets too close to things. So flowers In a box may be safe. LOL. Wishing you a beautiful Spring day. xo

  4. I know that feeling. I planted several things a bit early and had to cover them. Some are winter burned but will make it. Have a good week, olive

  5. Where we live, nurseries often do not have certain plants available until after the average date of the last chance of frost is past. We could still have some frost here. xo Nellie

  6. We have juniper bushes in our front yard, but they don't need pruning. I think you have a different kind. if you build up a box around the base of your mailbox, flowers will look great planted there! I agree that they would be safer that way too.

    1. This tree was trimmed up when I bought it and I thought I could keep it that way...some wee twigs on it do not grow as they should so it's hard to trim. But I just keep trying.LOL. xo,Susie

  8. Laurie, It was 58 degrees today..but at this time , you can be sure it won't get colder at night and kill out anything we might plant. So I have to wait a bit. xoxo,Susie

  13. I want to get out in the yard this weekend and plant and weed and cut the grass. It's always a lot of work, but the result is worth it. I love the idea of a planted box around your mailbox.
